Chiefs at Bengals(-13.5)

I think ive said this before, the AFC North is just bad this year

the Bengals only win against the AFC OUTSIDE of the North is a 7 point win over a terrible Kansas City team

Yet the division overall is .500 against the AFC (and hey, .500 against everyone). So that makes them a pretty average division.

What better time to say this than AFTER clinching the second playoff berth in 5 years... And winning the game on top of that. It's STILL time for Bratkowski to go. He finally tested the secondary, but it's something he should have done all season, including against Oakland. His playcalling and game plan (or lack there of) is, and has been, an absolute joke. The improved with their Defensive Coordinator, now it's time to improve the Offensive Coordinator.

I agree to a point, but part of the problem is the Bengals have at most 3 WR's, and not a single TE that should be on a NFL roster let alone starting. Losing Henry really hurt (both on the field and his death causing issue off the field). He could stretch the field, and the team was emotionally and physically drained this week.

Anyway, Caldwell is ok but can't stretch the field, and Coles has seen better days. Bratkowski relies on being able to throw deep and run the ball. He can no longer throw deep. Of course the sign of a good coordinator is being able to make the best out of what he has, and he still has a good OL, a good QB, a good RB, and a pro bowl WR. A blind man could see playing out of the I formation with a TE was allowing the other team to stack 8 or 9 in the box without issues (does anyone fear Foschi or Jeremi Johnson in passing routes?). Yet Brat loves to bang his head against the wall.

In the end, they should look for a better alternative. Yet the Bengals really need a WR in the 1st round, and hopefully a TE emerges.

So let me get this straight; if we beat the Jets, the Steelers are in the playoffs and we play the Ravens in the first round? If we lose to the Jets, we rematch in the first round and knock Pittsburgh out of the playoffs?

For the love of god, throw the game!

Here is the playoff generator from Yahoo. You can change the winners and losers to see who plays who.

NFL - Playoff Scenario Generator- Yahoo! Sports

If the Bengals lose it is the Jets no matter what as an opponent, and the Steelers are out no matter what. If the Bengals win it also depends on what the Pats do.

Assuming the Bengals win...

If the Pats, Ravens, and Steelers all win the Bengals play the Ravens (with Pitt playing NE). If the Pats lose, while the Ravens, and Broncos win (no matter what the Steelers do) the Bengals play the Broncos and Pats play the Ravens. If Pats lose, the Broncos lose, and Ravens win (no matter what Pitt does) the Bengals play the Texans and NE plays the Ravens.

So Pitt really needs a Pats and a Bengals win, or a Ravens loss (see edit). So if the Pats win, and the Ravens win, then the Steelers playoff hopes will be in the Bengals hands.

edit: One other scenario. If the Ravens lose, and the Texans win, the Steelers still need the Jets AND the Broncos to lose. So if NE loses, Ravens lose, and the Broncos win the Steelers will be out before the Bengals game. It will be the Texans whose fate will be in the Bengals hands in that case.

edit2: Looking at the Pat/Bengals tie breaker the Bengals actually have a shot at getting the tie breaker over the Pats. That really changes everything. It's unlikely, but if a bunch of pieces go the Bengals way they could actually get the tie breaker over the Pats.
