I don't understand waivers, but word is the Cubs are getting Scotty Pods for nothing. WTF? How does this work? I really hope this isn't true.

if the Cubs claim him off waivers there are 3 things that can happen - 1. work out a trade with the WhiteSox for pods, 2. take over his salary/contract from the WhiteSox (if they agree to just let him go), and 3. WhiteSox can pull him back off of waivers if no agreement is reached.
