i think that Brian Anderson is really going to come onto the scene this year. IMO he has a HUGE upside and i really think that he is going to start to come into his own this season. last year he struggled some and i think it was a huge learning experience for him.

struggling with him last year but not giving up is going to pay huge dividends for the team this year. his hitting was way improved by the end of the year, and his defense has always been spectacular.

Brian Anderson

TUCSON, Ariz. -- As far back as Spring Training 2006, Greg Walker had an idea as to the trials and tribulations about to be heaped upon Brian Anderson during his rookie season.

But the highly-respected White Sox hitting coach couldn't exactly go on record with his exact thoughts. Walker also held out hope that Anderson's shortcomings where the mechanics of his swing were concerned would be overridden by his pure athletic ability in a lineup full of top-notch hitters. "He had hit in Triple-A, and we weren't asking him to hit fourth. We wanted him to hit ninth and survive," Walker said. "But I was very concerned last year, I really was.

Javy Paid

TUCSON, Ariz. -- For the first time since the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Javier Vazquez started consecutive springs with the same team.
After agreeing to a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension with the White Sox on Tuesday afternoon, barring a trade, Vazquez now knows his baseball home will be in Chicago at least through the 2010 season. The affable right-hander will receive a salary of $12.5 million in 2007, as called for in the final year of his four-year deal with the Yankees signed in 2004, and the extension will pay him $11.50 million over the ensuing three years.

I'm happy about this deal. he is a good pitcher and is only 30 years old (turns 31 in July) - good deal IMO
