Robert Thomas Gilleran - #70962
Sophomore.gif
George_Tirebiter on 13 Nov 2007 01:34

Here is what the California Bar Journal (in the public record) had to say about Mr. Gilleran (LINK 1 TO FULL ARTICLE):"?Obnoxious behavior? billing garners disbarment"

The State Bar of California maintains this public record: LINK 2 "Robert Thomas Gilleran - #70962"

Mr. Gilleran is known for attempting to verbally assault and bully posters on several different websites. Here is a good recent example wherein Mr. Gilleran threatens a poster with bodily harm if he should ever meet the poster: LINK 3 (particularly Oct 17 posts):

Excerpts -

"4. i told you that, if i ever ran into you, i would invite you out to the parking lot and invite you to take the 1st punch. i never start fights. i do finish them if someone else starts them."

"5. you should be aware that any misrepesentations by you to any legal authorities are also actionable in the courts under the civil rico statute, one of the areas of law in which i am one of the nation?s leading experts."

"2. do not worry. i will not be showing up at your house. i will simply have a process server serve you with a lawsuit. in over 30 years, i have never lost a jury trial and you have made this one easy."

"2.unfortunately for you, your statements made online do constitute libel per se. you might as well hire an attorney right now to limit your future damages. there is nothing that anyone can help you with with what you have already done and whatever dd may have put you up to."

And here (LINK 4), I will let the readers decide for themselves whether Mr. Gilleran is "hitting on all eight cylinders":

4. in the meantime, usc comes to south bend riddled with injuries, in a state of terror because their cover on bushgate and other cheating scandals has broken down and with the pac 10 and the refs knowing that everyone is watching and that they will not get away with another theft of a win by nd, as they have, so far, for the 2005 nd/usc game at south bend.

we look foward to watching this 2007 notre dame team beat usc,

bob gilleran

Need I remind anyone of the final score ... USC 38 @ ND - 0

Gilleran, don't try to bully any posters here. As you once wrote to Scott Wolfe, "truth is an absolute defense." You are a known commodity and the Californa Courts don't put up with vexatious litigation. (Especially the ones owned by USC and their demonic minion.)

"Bob Gilleran" is a ubiquitous poster in the blogosphere. You can find his work on many, many different websites. A simple google search will turn up hundreds of hits.

Gilleran creditiblity has been challenged before and he posts the same rhetoric about having been "undefeated in 30 years," "edited the Yale Law Journal," and so on. Gilleran, however, with his many public pronouncements and threats on the internet, has made himself a "public figure" for the purpose of defamation litigation {New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254, 84 S.Ct. 710, 11 L.Ed.2d 686 (1964)}.

Since his disbarment in 1997, he respresents himself in court, pro se.

It's a shame there's only a few weeks of CFB left, otherwise I would start a thread on Bob Gilleran in the OD and we could all post his lists of reasons why, USC is crooked, Charlie Weis is great and he will sue you if you talk bad to him on the internet :slappy:

California Bar Journal - October, 1997

After one client complained about Gilleran to the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Gilleran advised the client to stop engaging in "obnoxious behavior" and included in a later invoice a $500 "penalty" for his "obnoxious letters and comments."
"I warned you that I do not tolerate such conduct," Gilleran wrote. He later "fired" the client.
Gilleran admonished another client to change her attitude as well, warning her he would "fire" her and ordering her to communicate with him only in writing.
Gilleran told a third client, who complained to the State Bar, that he would end his representation if the client did not pay a $750 "penalty" and write a letter of apology to him.
Gilleran never filed any of the RICO cases.

1. even more fan mail and presents of personal assets!!

2. i never spell check or proofread emails or internet posts. i save those things for the court briefs and motions and other documents that i have been writing for over 30 years and still undefeated in jury trials.

3. i graduated from yale university law school, the best in the nation, in 1973.

4. at yale, i was an editor of the yale law journal and a director of the yale moot court of appeals, honors won by very few students at yale law school.

6.while i have won many famous groundbreaking cases, i will give you the citation to just one united energy owners et al vs us energy management et al, 837 F. 2d 356(CA 9, 1988).

7. to this day, that case is the leading case on how to plead a civil rico action, cited by court all over the us, including the us supreme court.

8. since that is one of the statutes which you be facing when i haul you into the civil courts and strip you of all of your material posssessions, you reallyshould read that opinion.

9. you are correct about one thing. you are not the pope.

10.you are a pompous ignorant jerk who has just committed premediated economic suicide.

have a nice day,

bob gilleran

Truely a person as obnoxious and arrogant as the schools he purports to have attended.

Care to drop another name on our collective toes?

The funny thing about this is that Bob couldn't do this:
2. i never spell check or proofread emails or internet posts. i save those things for the court briefs and motions and other documents that i have been writing for over 30 years and still undefeated in jury trials.
without suffering legal penalty.

What with being disbarred and all that.

I caught a picture of Bobby at his new job though - Weis' greatest fan and most public defender ....

Looks like you beat me to posting the Mandel link...that article is darn near perfect. Only thing I would have changed is the part about him being humble and accepting blame for the loss. When you say things like:

"Rather than sit there and make excuses and talk about the volume of numbers in the upper classes, you just have to say you didn't do a good enough job of putting them in a position to win"

you ARE making excuses, there was no need for him to mention the number of junior/seniors. And the whole crap about is it the teacher or the students shows he ISN'T willing to take the blame.

But regardless, great article.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this meeting

ESPN - Weis to discuss Irish problems with Pats coaches - College Football

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Charlie Weis will do some serious self-evaluation after this season. Then the Notre Dame coach will let his old coaching buddies on the New England Patriots put their two cents in.

"I think that those guys would have no problem telling me what things I did right and what things I did wrong," Weis said Sunday. "I think those resources, those people, because we're close enough and have a very close relationship won't be afraid of saying to me, 'What the heck are you doing?' And that's what I want. I want somebody to be able to tell me, to say it like that. And I know that those guys would do that."
