Charleston, SC/Folly Beach golf recommendations

There is a very nice public course in good shape on the other side of the bridge. It's called "Patriot's Point." If I'm not mistaken - holes 16-18 are along the water and the course is relatively flat so wind plays a factor. The starters are all old timers and love their job and I've always been treated well there.

I'm also a big fan of the Isle of Palm courses including the super nice one ( http://www.wilddunes.com/south-carolina-links-course.php ). I believe its $110/player per round but worth it. It's in very nice shape. They also have a Harbor course which should be like $60/player.

Woof is correct, Patriot Point is decent (not great) and the people are friendly. there are actually 4 different courses at Kiawah the Ocean Course is the most famous and hardest to get on. You probably have to be staying on the property to book a tee time there in advance. You can call a day ahead and walk on as a single or if you are lucky 2 players. You should be able to get on one of the other courses down there. The ocean course was close to $300 when I played it and that was probably 6 years ago. There is also a really nice resort just on the north side on Isle of Palms called Wild Dunes they have an ocean course (preferred) and a Harbor Course. The ocean course had some erosion issues a couple years ago and one of the holes got washed into the ocean, but last I heard they rebuilt it and they now have 18 holes again. It was very nice.

Ocean course is closed for aeration this week but it's so freaking hot down here right now that golf doesn't sound the best after getting lobstered today.
