Chad Johnson's ridiculous comments

I was watching Sportscenter this morning, and they interviewed Joey Porter on the Budweiser Hotseat. At one point, they asked Porter to respond to Chad Johnson's recent comments that the Bengals own the AFC North and everyone knows it. Two things I wish Porter would have said.

1. The last time I checked, the Steelers and Bengals both finished with the same record (11-5) last year. Additionally, the Steelers beat the Bengals 2 out of 3 times last season. So I guess Johnson was right in claiming ownership over the AFC North simply through some quirky tiebreaker. :roll1:

2. Ten years from now, what are people more likely to remember--who won the Super Bowl or who won the AFC North through a tiebreaker? And for that matter, Chad, would you trade your AFC North "title" for a Super Bowl win? I thought so.

Why would it make him a crybaby to refute a ridiculous contention by illiciting facts? I think of it as exposing a loudmouth.

I do not think that means what you think it means.

Excellant reference to The Princess Bride.

"That Vizzini, he can 'fuss'"

"Fuss, fuss...I think he like to scream at 'us'"

"Probably he means no 'harm'"

"He's really very short on 'charm'"

"You have a great gift for rhyme"

"Yes, yes, some of the time."

"Fezzick, are there rocks ahead?"

"If there are, we all be dead."

"No more rhymes now, I mean it!"

"Anybody want a peanut?"

"DAHHHHHH!!!!!"

Steelers fans soooo hung up on Chad Johnson only helps him make his point. If the Bengals are such an inferior team, people like you would ignore him and bask in the glow of your SB win... But no, lets focus on Chad as if he poses some sort of threat to your beloved towel that is somehow "terrible".

Riiiiiiiight. My proving how ridiculous his statement is implies that I see the Bengals as a threat. Great logic. And for what it's worth I'm not a Steelers fan--I couldn't care less about the NFL, besides wanting to see former Buckeyes do well no matter who they're playing for. I just don't like it when athletes shoot their mouths off and make statements for which there is entirely no support, as Chad Johnson so often does.

your logic only works if Johnson was trying to make a 100% factual statement that couldn't be disproven. He was talking smack. Get over it. You look like a child.

(Uh oh.....I said "you look like a child", but you probably don't look exactly like a child, so you're going to need to prove how ridiculous my statement was :roll2: )

:slappy: . I was wondering how long it would take you to step in and once again defend your boy Chad Johnson. 13 minutes--not bad for a Bengals fan.

Well I know for a fact that BN27 is not a Bengals fan, so that makes your statement really wrong but whatever............

Anyway what BN27 said in his previous post is compltly right, Johnson (like many other players), is doing two things, one he is talking trash, and two he is saying it rather tounge in cheek. Look at what Joey Porter said last week about talking trash to the president. How many people thought he would actually do that? I would assume not many, but of course so people took it literally and freaked out and thus Porter had to issue a statement saying he was just trying to be funny.

That is what most of these players do, they try to be funny, cocky, talk a little trash, most of which is in good fun. However the media then likes to blow it up as if it is real, and then certain people such as yourself buckeyeboy bite into it hook,, line and, sinker....They sell more magsm newpapers, high tv ratings because now they have "created a controversy" and thus the cycle continues because the higher sales/rating is all the really matters.

Chad Johnson is an idiot.

Joey Porter is an idiot.

They can both play the game of football at a high level, but they're asses in the media. I'm to the point where it doesn't matter what they say, you just have to take it with a grain of salt and hope someone shuts them up on the field.

Chad Johnson is a genuine humanitarian. He makes sure that people with nothing useful to talk about in their lives will always have Chad Johnson to talk about.

It's that kind of heroic selflessness and dedication to the plight of the less fortunate which made this country great.
