You don’t think the statistics match?
This is disingenuous. Early 2000s Hawaii QBs had good stats. Stats are frequently used to hide reality. Comparing Burrow and Mac Jones is foolish. Burrow...if he can recover from this injury....has the potential to be great. Mac Jones will be lucky to replicate Chad Henne or Mike Glennon.

I don't think college (or HS, or middle school, or peewee) statistics necessarily carry over to how someone will do at the next level. They are an indicator (not necessarily the indicator) of how 2 athletes compare, but based on your logic scouts wouldn't be necessary. All you would have to do is look at statistics and determine who you will draft (or recruit).

I disagree. I love the accuracy and the way he goes through his reads.

I guess time will tell.
I looked up the NCAA’s top-10 in career passing efficiency. It includes 6 Heisman winners, the 2 most recent Buckeye QBs, and the 2 most recent Bama QBs.

Link

1. Tua Tagovailoa
2. Mac Jones
3. Kyler Murray
4. Justin Fields
5. Sam Bradford
6. Baker Mayfield
7. Dwayne Haskins
8. Joe Burrow
9. Marcus Mariota
10. Tim Tebow

I just found this interesting.

Bama was extremely good and disciplined with Covid this year. They tested every single day, and the players lived in nearly complete isolation. No restaurants, no movies, no parties. They were allowed to go home over Xmas, but with strict rules to follow. They were nearly prisoners. I noticed a couple of people taking shots at how Bama probably wasn’t testing it’s players. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Are you implying that Ohio States Covid issues are self inflicted? This was a take that got me pissed off and unsubscribed to CF Nerds on Youtube. I don't know exactly what tOSU protocols were, but the players are commenting about NOT seeing their families for months. So the implication is that the were not allowed to go home over Christmas. Don't know exactly but one should imply that Ohio State players were going to restaurants, going to movies, going to parties, unless you have some proof.

Honest question, was there any outside entity verifying that players were being tested and what the results of those tests were? I think Ohio State had the Big Ten overseeing testing. If everything is done internally, you can see where that might not be too convincing to anyone skeptical.

I never mentioned OSU in my statement. I don’t know what their Covid protocols were.

I’m not sure who verified testing. But with Saban almost missing one game, then actually missing the Iron Bowl, I would think there wouldn’t be much funny business going on.
