CFP Game BMW Thread: #9 Tennessee at #8 tOSU

I’ll go ahead and repeat my sentiment after last week’s shit show.
I have no faith nor trust that Day will lead, mentor, challenge, et cetera to a winning result in games of significance.
I will watch and root for the Buckeyes, but any positive expectations do not exist.

To clarify for @Thump : I’m open to feeling differently. Outcomes just need to open the door for that to occur. I’ll never denigrate or post negatively about Ryan as a person. Professionally, it’s obvious he knows how to get and keep very good players at tOSU. It’s the deployment, scheme, and outcomes (when it really matters) that leave a LOT to be desired.
Moreover, I’m of an older guard that is NOT NC or bust, and hold The Game as the ultimate each season. That’s my cross to bear and don’t expect others to agree or be aligned with. I’ll deal with it myself.
I agree 100%.

I’m not even confident playing at home vs Tennessee. I actually think it’s a bad matchup for us. So I’m not getting my hopes up.

Although I do have a feeling we run the table to win the NC LOL

On a more positive note, the last time OSU lost to those guys and went to the playoff, they played an excellent game against UGA. There has been a lot of talk about how this team is going to come out, but I am quite confident they will be pissed off at the disrespect being thrown around at them. I was listening to the college football station on Sirius and the one (least intelligent host) mentioned he wouldn't be surprised if Tennessee boat raced OSU....not going to happen. This team has no need to try to prove their toughness/run up the middle and will hopefully be the creative, explosive offense they're capable of and send the SEC to a loss that they can cry more about.

He's 1-3 in the CFP so far man.
His teams play better in the CFP is all I'm saying. You know what train on I'm on though on Day because I care about his record against ttun exclusively at this point. I just want to salvage this season and his teams perform better in the CFP, that's all. But they better damn do it.

The poor guy was completely hosed in the first Clemson game and then the Georgia game. His only real deserved loss was that disaster vs Bama. And with the COVID stuff and Coombs at DC, there was no shot.

They coulda put both of those games away but failing to do so allowed them to be in position to get hosed.

Stalling on offense and settling for FGs has been a major problem for Day in big games.

Vs Clemson in the first half they kicked 2 FGs inside the Clemson 10 and another inside the 20. Which held the game to 16-14 at halftime, if it's 24-14 instead we likely win.

The 4th quarter vs UGA was Punt FG then the missed FG on the 3 offensive possessions. Get a TD instead of that FG and it's 42-24 instead of 38-24 and a completely different game at that point..

You have to score TDs in these games, settling for a bunch of short FGs is how you lose.

And as if the fuckery that always seems to happen to us in the ESPN Invitational is suddenly going to go away. We will never be the on the positive side of those situations. They won't let that happen.
