Well, the last time before the end of '99 was the middle of '99. They went in and out of the polls a couple times that year. :biggrin:

But to answer your specific question, the last time they were ranked before 1999 was Oct. 25, 1995, when they were ranked #25.

1993 was the last time they were ranked at the end of the season, golferdow, but nice try. :biggrin:

Did you ever think that scUM had something to do with those?

Use some objectivity, had anyone said that about our win over Miami on Sat. you'd be pissed and say that it was our defense that causes the turnovers and not Betts throwing off of his back foot all day.

I hate scUM more than anyone but come on.

For fuck's sake, I know our defense was bad and that luck factors in to turnovers, but don't you think the defense had might have had something to do with some of those turnovers? Woodley forced a fumble, and Burgess put his helmet right on the ball to force another.

As for "would have lost," that's totally ignoring our offensive performace. We pulled our starters at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Henne threw 6 passes in the entire second half. We just let Hart and Grady run the clock out, which they were able to do despite it being obvious! If you honestly think we couldn't have kept scoring, you might want to watch our first three drives again.


Anyway, Michigan should not be ahead of Texas, I have no doubt. My gut says we should be about 8-12, but I'm not yet familiar enough with the other teams in that area to make a specific judgement.

I don't really mind Notre Dame sneaking into the Top 25. They were impressive, even though Wannstedt is an moron.
