CFN All-Americans for 2005

I agree. Hard to believe Carpenter, Whitner, Mangold, Holmes, or Kudla get no mention on there. They have 3 centers as their top 15 O-linemen, and I'd take Mangold over 2 of the 3 for sure. Hard for Kudla to make that list when BC's Mathias Kiwanuka has to settle for honorable mention (hard to believe he's not AT LEAST 2nd team...)

5 of the top 10 linebackers in college football, according to CFN, came from the Big 10 (Hawk, Greenway, Posluszny (2nd team, HA!), McGarigle, and Hodge).

I'd love to see a freshman all-american team from them. You gotta think that Malcolm Jenkins and Tyrell Sutton are damn near locks for that list.

They had this out last week. Sutton was offensive frosh of the year. No mention of Jenkins. Boone got 3rd team.

*OT Alex Boone, Ohio State – The hulking teen stepped into the lineup for injured starter Kirk Barton in October and quickly showed why he was one of the most coveted recruits in the nation earlier in the year. With senior Rob Sims vacating his left tackle spot, Buckeye coaches will find a way to get Boone on the field more regularly in 2006.

"Sorry, Carpenter, you're too versitale. You played linebacker very well, and you played defensive end very well. Unfortunately, we don't have a DE/LB spot on the All-American lists."

He'll get a much more valuable prize on the first day of the draft, when he becomes one of the more coveted outside linebackers for the ever increasing number of 3-4 teams in the NFL.

Carp will be a monster at the next level.

Looks like a slip-up at CFBnews. Sims 'vacated his left tackle spot' for left guard at the start of the year.

But it's nice to see Boone get the recognition.
