So you can't wait until the college football season starts? You say you love college football and insist that it's the best sport in the world. You think you even know a lot about college football, and you're just killing time until September 3rd so you can make a killing in vCash. Is that your situation, Sparky?
Then BP's CFB Awards Contest for 2009 will help you kill some time and give you a chance to show your knowledge of the CFB landscape. It'll even give you a chance to win some of my vCash.
Prizes:
1st place - $250,000 vCash
2nd place - $100,000 vCash
3rd place - $25,000 vCash
Here's how it works. Give your top-3 guesses for each of the award categories listed below, but give your top-4 for the Heisman. Except for the Heisman, if your top choice wins that award, you get 10 points. If your 2nd pick wins you get 7 points, if your 3rd pick wins you get 5 points.
The Heisman scoring is different because the vote totals are released. So rank your choices 1 through 4. Scoring will be given for each of your 4 choices that ends up in the Heisman top-4 spots. Points will be given on a 7-5-3-1 basis, and the lower position of that player (where you picked him vs. where he finished) will be used to score. So if you picked Tebow-McCoy-Bradford-Crabtree in '08, since the voting was Bradford-McCoy-Tebow-Harrell, you'd have received 3 points for Tebow, 5 for McCoy, and 3 for Bradford, 11 points in total.
With apologies to the Bednarik, Butkus/LB, Rimington, Lott, Wuerrful, Groza, Guy, Maxwell, Walter Camp, Manning, Hendricks, Mackey, Tatupu, Unitas, Draddy, Lowe's CLASS, and any other awards; I've selected 8 other categories for this game.
Copy/Paste the rest of this post and fill in your picks. Due by Sep. 3rd at 6 pm ET.
