Boston- Paul Pierce was right.
After he and Ray Allen combined to make 2 of 18 shots in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, he said neither one of them could play any worse.
In Game 2, the two went 11-of-23 to help the Boston Celtics to a decisive 89-73 victory over the Cavaliers, who now trail in the best-of-seven series, 2-0. Game 3 will be Saturday night in Quicken Loans Arena.

BOSTON Paul Pierce and Ray Allen found their shooting touch. LeBron James can only hope he left his in Cleveland.

Pierce scored 19 points, Kevin Garnett added 13 with 12 rebounds, and Allen broke out of a seven-quarter scoring drought with 16 points to help the Boston Celtics beat the Cavaliers 89-73 Thursday night and take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

One game after going 2-for-18 from the field and missing his last six shots, including a layup to tie the game with 8.5 seconds left, James missed his first three tries and finished with 21 points on6-for-24 shooting.

"I'm a little shocked that he's8-for-42, but this is what we work on. We work on trying to contain him," said Pierce, who was 2-for-14 in Game 1. "LeBron is what makes them go. And if we can somehow control him, we control their team. And with the help of the guys around me, we've been able to do that."

Allergies force Cleveland Cavaliers forward Ben Wallace to miss most of game against Boston Celtics

Friday, May 09, 2008
Boston- Cavaliers forward-center Ben Wallace left the court with about eight minutes left in the first quarter of Game 2 on Thurs day night because of pain and dizzi ness.
Wallace's pain was so severe that he had to lay down across several chairs on the bench for relief. It appeared he was hit in the face during the game, but Wallace said his problems were from allergies.
"My sinuses have been bothering me and Boston is a place tough for sinuses anyway," Wallace said. "It all just built up."

I bet you were saying that when he took you Pistons to the NBA championship...GTFOH you hypocrite, come back with you actually have some decent ammo...

I guess there is something to having players in their prime, instead of when they are over the hill. It's a pretty easy concept to understand, unless youre a fan of a team that has yet to win anything in their history. :slappy:

Read this article on Cleveland.com If you have never had an inner ear infection, you do not have any idea what you're talking about:shake::sad:. Some people can barely walk when they have inner ear infections yet play basketball. You are truly stupid!

Forward Ben Wallace is doubtful for tonight's game against Boston after testing at the Cleveland Clinic on Friday revealed he has a viral left inner-ear infection and allergies. If Wallace does not play, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said Anderson Varejao would start in place of Wallace -- with his head of springy curls replacing Wallace's trademark 'fro.

Wallace left Game 2 in Boston 3:40 into the first quarter, complaining of dizziness. He stumbled off-balance as he left the court, and had to lie prone on the bench for several minutes. He did not return to the game, and said afterward he thought allergies were the culprit.
If Wallace cannot play tonight, I don't think the Cavs have a very good chance today even with the home-court advantage.

If we stand a chance-

Wild Thing- never ever touch the ball offensively again.

Perimeter game has to be on fire.

Boston has to lighten up the d a bit.

LeBron- no more open look J's missed. Come on dude.

Z- another great start, but finish tonight.

Crowd- don't be discouraged, Boston isn't half as great as they're made out to be.

You get a lead? You finish it.
Like the announcers astutely pointed out, the D has been pretty solid all along... I hope they can keep this energy up!

not criticizing your post, bill, just saying...
I agree for the most part...in the last game their quater defense sucked as well as offense. It gave the game right back. Need to keep momentum going.

Ben Jammin have an awesome first quarter on both ends
