So, you've talked to Price and he told you that he "knows it's coming"?

Great leverage and strength are prequisites for DT also (see Simon). Agility is more crucial at OG than DT, because of the reactionary nature of the postition in addition to the need to be able to pull.

Price isn't a consensus top-15 DT in the entire country for nothing. The staff doesn't seem to think he has a problem with agility. Now, if he doesn't meet the DL needs he may get moved to OL ala Chase Ferris (at least the Ferris move is a romur at the moment), but don't claim he's get moved to the OL even before he plays his senior year of high school football.

I'm not saying he will play OG for sure and he is a good DT, I'm just saying personally I like his skill set and ceiling better there.

You may be right, but I think he's going to be too good of a DT (solid second stringer at worst throughout his 3-4 years here) to be moved to OL.

You can either listen to information being given to you or keep your opinion and be wrong. That's up to you.

As for Price, I like his talent. If he commits to the weight room half as much as Simon, he will be a beast. Looking forward to watching him grow over the next 4-5 years.

Sorry for keeping us off topic and you can delete this if you want, but I had to post this regarding Foster. It seems Foster gave almost the exact same statement on his switch from Alabama to Auburn as TJ Yeldon did last year when he switched from Auburn to Alabama.

Yeldon on switch from Auburn to Alabama:

Ohio State Football Recruiting Update: 7/30/12

Best Guess
Based on all of the above and barring any major surprises, which are not only possible but likely in recruiting, here is my guess for the rest of the class.


LB: Mike Mitchell
DB: Vonn Bell
DB: Chris Worley
DL: Tyquan Lewis
WR: Shelton Gibson
WR: Devon Allen


I am the most confident right now with Mitchell, followed by Lewis and Gibson/Allen.


I chose not to include an offensive lineman in my prediction because I think Finley is a Spartan and the 2014 class already looks solid enough to make up for a miss (it's not like we haven't dealt with small O-line classes before, courtesy of Bollman).


If the staff does pull another OT that would obviously shake this prediction up and would likely bump out the second DB or WR.


I am the least confident in Bell being a part of the class, however, and if he heads elsewhere that would open a spot back up.


Another spot might open up if Worley is not a part of the class. I really like what he brings to the table in terms of versatility, but his spot in the class may have already been taken by Darron Lee. Depending on how things went for him at FNL, the staff may have players further up on the board that they would take before him- especially if Bell is still in the picture.

Happy to see 2 more WR recruits, not happy about the lack of confidence in landing Bell. Having him with Mitchell and Lewis to finish out the D would be incredible. Would love to see Foster or Quick take one of the WR spots too but hey you don't always get your perfect scenario. I certainly see some surprises after the season is over. I am holding out hope that the players on our board now and more interested after the season and we attract some other studs we don't even know about. What we look like on the field this fall will play a huge roll on how this class finishes up.

The lack of confidence stems from a lack of positive updates regarding Bell. On the bright side, there haven't been any negative updates either. In fact, there hasn't been any news at all on Bell for nearly a month, which could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing. With no updates or insider information to speak of Bell is hard to read.

Much agreed. Urban has proven himself as a coach, and tOSU has proven itself as a top-flight football power, but the two together has not been proven. If the offense isn't fluid or show good growth from Miami U to Meatchicken, I'd bet on some of the O studs to go elsewhere.

The D seems to be a matter of depth (too much), and available minutes to play, so the D studs are asking, should I warm the bench for them, or start right away for X University????? Good question, and one I'm happy not to have to answer.

Much is riding on how well tOSU comes out of the gate. And how stands up to the power programs on the schedule. Every program takes time to change direction, and tOSU is no different. No pressure there.......

Ultimately, believe with my rose-colored glasses that we'll be fine, probably not as high as aspirations wish, but well above the nay-sayers that want to pull us down.....with a year under his belt, Urban will be able to kick it with the 2014 recruits with a now 'proven' record and solid plans on how to complete the transition from 'three yards in a cloud of dust' to the spread offense that puts up alot of points.

Not from me....I am very happy with the '13 class! :biggrin:

Furthermore, I expect the offense to be much more creative than in the past. After reading quite a bit on the offseason changes to the players diets and the impact of MM, I expect to see a huge improvement in performance and speed. I just think the unknown of what the offense will look like will take some time to become comfortable with the young playmakers out there. The D we are known for will just gett better and I see us continuing to attract top tier kids.
