CBF40's Look at '10 recruiting

Fortunately, between William Gholston, Jamel Turner, and Solon's Darryl Baldwin, even if Wilkins doesn't ultimately have much interest in OSU (or vice versa), OSU should be in pretty good shape to land some excellent DE prospects in 2010.

Jordan Hicks is from Lakota West, actually. He might be the most heavily recruited player to come play there before he's done...

Thanks, don't know how I got confused...

Gotta like the fact that there are some big time DE on the board this year and then in '10...Should help us rebuild the depth a little bit...

Seems to be depth at all positions over this year and next besides maybe DT at the moment, but we should be able to land a class of Simon and one other, and hopefully a couple more in 10...

I had the pleasure of watching Dwight Macon against CCC during the regular season. Kid is a freak as far as ability. For a soph, he reads well, has a smooth delivery and was fairly quick. I know he's only D-4 but D-4 was vicious last year. As long as Reno doesn't do something stupid like decide he's going to win games by handing the ball off every play (Which I can't see that crazy fella doin) Macon should have a couple huge years and should get some recognition.

Another list from fvsports.com

2. Seantrel Henderson - Everyone throws around "The next Orlando Pace" but this kid might actually be it. (Gotta love what they say about him)
6. Jamel Turner
9. Mike Hull - Not sure if he is on the radar, but is from PA and played in Sweat's league
13. Spencer Ware
20. William Gholston
36. Matt James
42. Eric Howard
48. Kenny Wilkins
54. Dwight Macon
81. Audre Givens
91. Mike Dorsey

Gotta like an early list that has 7 guys from Ohio on it along with our big targets OOS like Henderson, Gholston, and maybe Hull and Wilkins...

Also as Wade pointed out today Andrew Norwell is going to be one of the best lineman in state next year, so with he, James, and Henderson that is 3 very talented T prospects...

Isaiah Byler from Elyria, Skyler Schoffner from Washington Court House, and Josh Davis From Plain City Jonathan Alder are three more Ohioans in the '10 class that likely project as tackles and will garner OSU's attention.

Wow that is a lot of talent on the oline in one class...We shall see who the staff decides to target...We already know that Henderson is number one on the board...

Nice list. I watched #5 on that list (Michael Dyer) 9 times last year as my son attends his school. Seems that there's little chance that we'll pursue since we have never really made a push for anyone in Arkansas, but man, he is lights out with leg drive that never stops.

Hull is all Penn State and the coaching situation will have no impact whatsoever. His father played there and from what I've been told he bleeds blue and white. He will be a stud though. Outplayed both Sweat and Yancich in their game last year on both sides of the ball.

Is there really not one stud sophomore from central Ohio? Not one?[/quote]

LOL!!! If you ever feel down about that type of thing; then I welcome you to go down to the Southeast area. The drought there has been for decades.

I believe the last time that a player from Marietta went to a major D1 (esp. tOSU) school was before the Civil Rights movement.
