CB Marshon Lattimore (2017 NFL Def ROY, 3x Pro Bowl, Washington Commanders)

Scout $ - Lattimore Talks Recruiting

1/18

Video by The Bank.....Offers from Toledo, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Penn State, NC State, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, UCLA & others. Says distance won't play a factor and is looking for that 'at home' feeling. Doesn't have a preference about playing offense or defense in college, but says he likes playing defense.

Im surprised he prefers defense. I saw him in the hybrid rb/wr role. But he would also be great as a cb as well. That would make for some incredible secondary battles

Could make for an almost all Glenville secondary down the road...

Not likely, but certainly possible that Bogard, Worley, Lattimore, and maybe even Erick Smith could all be out there together in a Nickle package...

Let's just hope they can tackle more like Donte Whitner than Christian Bryant...

Just sayin': If this is true I think he is making a wise decision. I'm surprised more recruits that are "athletes" don't prefer defense; since, historically DBs have longer NFL careers than RBs.

True. But he wouldnt be a RB, hed be more of a wr who at times gets handoffs out of the backfield. .
And there's more money usually paid on offense compared to defense. That would be a major reason.

Looks like he won MVP of the defensive backs at this camp.

I assume it was probably his choice to compete on D instead of O, which kind of adds further credence to the rumors/reports that he prefers defense over offense.

So I wonder where he fits in the matter of importance or pecking order when it comes to dbs. He can certainly play, but is rated by our coaches higher than a guy like tony brown for example

Scout $ - Lattimore Struts His Stuff

2/19

By The Bank....Ran a 4.42 forty at the Best of the Midwest Combine, but says he'd like to get under 4.4. Latest offer is from Tennessee & says he'd also like offers from Alabama, Florida & LSU. Would like to visit Tennessee, Indiana, West Virginia, Illinois & Ohio State this Spring. Will make his decision after all his officials.

I would rather he do it prior to the winter.

Yeah with the commitment from Webb and being in on some other great DB prospects, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Taking 5 DBs in a smaller class seems to be a lot, but they can just take a bunch of great athletes and figure it out later. Especially if they'd get a guy like Pepper who seems to be a very good offensive player as well.
