The support the two have received from Ohio State has been validation that the recent decision their son made to flip to the Buckeyes is the right one.
"It makes us look more and more forward to Jordan going to Ohio State," she continued. "When my cancer diagnosis came down in January they were the first school to reach out. They wrote personal notes to me and supported me, even after Jordan committed to Clemson. They always checked on my progress. They have been there the whole way being supportive."
The Hancock's commended Ryan Day for his compassion during both this decision and the cancer radiation treatments that Benita went through. They also made sure to point out how supportive North Gwinett head coach Bill Stewart has been as well.
"Ohio State was very supportive and told us that his scholarship was secure," she said. "Jordan's high school coach was very supportive as well. (Day) said that he definitely supported our family's decision. Jordan's scholarship is secure whether he plays or not. He said that we are all a family and family sticks together."
