CB Eli Apple (All B1G, National Champion, Los Angeles Chargers)

try reading my post again, and comprehending what i wrote.
DBs shouldn't be looking at the WRs eyes except in the instance where he is behind the WR and the WR is looking back (deep routes, corner fades). The two instances I initially pointed out (Bell vs. Cincy and Apple vs. Ped) are perfect examples where the WR was looking back and starting to reach for the ball, and the defender blindly shoved his arm between the WR's arms and it did nothing.

Let me answer your question with a question if I may. When the opposing quarterback steps back and throws the ball deep, when the ball is in the air, what do you most likely expect to happen? Pass interference, catch, incomplete, or interception
I'd expect a mix of all. And I also know that because we have been so tight In coverage that these chances are few and far between. Our coverage has made dropping back for the deep ball a reason to get excited for a Bosa or Deisel sighting.

Most likely to happen? Incomplete.
I didn't ask what is statistically most likely to happen. I am talking about your feeling at that moment when the ball is in the air with our defense even today. Between the corners playing still soft when it matters, and our safeties not being always reliable to be at the right place, I personally do not get that warm and fuzzy feeling, of nah we got this...

Well since statistically that's most likely to happen, most of us logical and unemotional types think incompletion. The fact that you don't sounds like more of a personal issue.

Teams average 5.8 yards a pass against OSU. Teams are throwing a 59% completion, but a huge majority of that are screens (high percentage completion pass, but this year with low yield in yardage.)

I'm not sure what you're getting at

I would be curious to know the percentage of completitions on throws over 20 yards on our defense this year. I think the percentage would be pretty low, but some people tend to only remember the big plays like in the Cincy game, which have been the rare exception this year.

Wrong. They belong in the WebMD forum.

Try Prilosec if the problem persists.
Lol thx guys for the discussion. Our secondary is improving. I am just not sure if they are there yet. Penn state is not a good measuring stick by any means, and they still completed a couple of critical plays on us. I still think the major problem is they only look back at the very last instant and that has led to pass interference and big catches. I am sorry if some on here only want to hear positive things and call anyone with a little critique either mentally ill or a troll. I am a big buckeye fan just like all of you and want nothing but success for our boys. I just think constructive criticism is better than ...well you know...
Peace.
