I think he did the smart thing to not risk his future $$ but it's definitely something that is up to each player. Hell even a second or third round pick should probably put their draft stock ahead of a bowl game but I mean really it's their choice. If you really want a if they are right or wrong answer I honestly think they are probably wrong to play it's just not really the responsible decision. I just wish that wasn't the case.

Well how about you worry about that rapidly approaching time of players quitting mid season when it happens and leave Denzel Ward out of it. It's not up to him. The decision HE made had nothing to do with this bullshit future of yours....it had to do with the actual future of his.

Not saying that at all. My point is, a kid who is next to guaranteed a first round draft spot has no reason to play in a meaningless bowl game. I have no problem with him doing it, but it baffles me how fans get so bent out of shape over a kid about to cash in his lottery ticket. If guys like Darnold, Mayfield, Barkley, Ridley, etc sat out I wouldn't be at all surprised. And the thing is, I can absolutely bet anyone that their teammates would understand and have no problem with it

I watched the entire Panthers-Falcons game today, and not one peep was mentioned about McCaffrey and a bowl game. I think you may be paying more attention to it. NFL teams and analysts don't care

And it's not only an off season issue but a CFB issue.

I really do not care what NFL tv commentators have to say about it, nor is it relevant to this discussion. We are the ones who tell the stories, the college football fans who live through it and love this game - and we don't forget anything, ever.

And yes, the heat this minor story is generating tells me we are definitely in the offseason.

Lol, spoken like a true fanboy. The majority of fans are delusional morons who expect players to live and die for their teams like they do. And when a kid makes a business decision, fans feign outrage until the next story. Example of this is JT Barrett, fans wanted his head on a stake after the Oklahoma game, and then after Ped St wanted to put him on a pedestal. Fans buy jerseys, yell at TVs and act irrationally. A TV commentator and coaches will provide a better a judgement than any fan! So if you're using fans to rationalize your opinion, than your point isn't very valid

And it may be a minor story because Ward was the only Buckeye to sit our, but it's certainly going to be somewhat of a trend moving forward. But, yes the off season lends itself to discussing these matters to a much deeper extent

You're not getting it - and being a bit of an ass in the process - but that's a funny word coming from a poster like you. I'm not even criticizing Ward at all, whereas you're playing his "fanboy" role to a tee.

This is not a big deal, but it's still a story that will follow him, in the minds of the people (your "delusional morons") who follow and re-tell these stories over time. To suggest otherwise is just not realistic.
