Yeah, that call was pretty much status quo for Big Ten refs--if it looks bad, throw the flag, regardless of whether there was a violation of the rules. That the call was upheld on review is an even bigger black eye for Big Ten officiating. What a complete clown show.

Rewatched the first half of the Sparty game last night, and still got mad when the ref threw the flag on Sheffield after he detonated the WR in the zone with a couple seconds left in the half. The ref initially didn't flag it, but when he saw the WR roll in pain on the ground afterwards, he threw it. Luckily, other refs told him he was full of shit and the flag got picked up. Blatant incompetence...

I hope he’s drafted by the Saints, but I’d be happy if he went to any fringe playoff team. Top 15-20 pick, easily.
