CB Bryce West (Official Thread)

Heck of a play by the freshman this weekend. I wonder if we will see him against Oregon as he seems to be coming on strong.
That was textbook coverage on a deep go route, looked really natural on that play staying in the hip pocket and turning to the ball. Pretty awesome that West and Scott got to play a decent bit in a CFP game, they'll need to step up next year. Cool part is they got a year of valuable development behind our fantastic veteran corners before we have to rely on them.

SO, SO much to like from that. He was: with the receiver all the way, actually turned to see and play the ball, actually played the ball without interfering, and (this was my favorite part and I didn't notice until I watched the slo-mo) he continued to play the ball after initial contact to ensure that the receiver didn't make some kind of epic catch coming down and/or while on his back. Great play from anybody, but, damn, he's a freshman who hasn't gotten a lot of live reps.

Tend to agree, the best part of the Tennessee game is that Day & Co made a conscious decision to play alot of players in the fourth quarter. Evaluation? probably. To get them into the first 12 team playoff game? absolutely. the CBs did well, as noted above, RBs not so much, OL, OK. QBs well, no one lit it up, mostly handing off to RBs until a telegraphed 3rd down pass needed, bounced twice before getting to the receiver, I believe. But they did get live reps, and also believe the UT kept in their starters. Anyway, glad it happened (shoulda happened in early part of season, but water under the bridge). Go Bucks!
