CB Brandon Underwood (official thread)

Thanks for the update. I think it is more important for Youngerwood (I like that nickname) to get healthy as it has been pointed out we have some depth at this position right now. You hate to see those things in an exhibition game, but they are bound to happen sonner or later.

The first report was from the BSB boars which as spread to Bnuts also.
Supposivly this guy Skeeter knows him and replied with...

''He is at home resting , who said he will be out 4-6 weeks, not his father, are me and not OSU. he will be fine and he will not red shirt this year, the kid can flat out play like his brother , the secondary at OSU will be one of the best, for a long time. Remmber this he did not let a pass get by him at any all star game . End of story. As the kid's say.''

I hope he is right, but I don't see him not RSing healthy or not, so not sure how credible this guy is by claiming otherwise.

skeeter is also a bit of a 'homer' for the Underwoods - but in a good way. For the life of me I can't see in that depth chart where he would get the reps this season to make it worth taking his RS off. But who knows.

Was that Clarett's problem or was it a re-occurring stinger?

Stinger

Is my memory faulty, or didn't Underwood separate that shoulder last year, too... in the Fall, maybe?

Thought I remembered such a headline somewhere. I'll see if I can't find it.

Edit: GOT IT.

It was about a month ago... which is probably why I remember it.

I think if he gives it time to fully heal, and especially if he can strengthen up the surrounding muscles just a bit (can help with dislocation problems, sometimes), hopefully this will be the last we hear of it.

Must really rankle with him, though, to be held out of contact.

I can't see why they wouldn't redshirt him. Asking Brandon to play this year, IMO, would be wasting a year of eligibility, regardless of whether or not the shoulder injury ever occured. There are enough corners in the fold right now to blow a year running kickoffs.

I agree, Brandon will be redshirted. Also, the separated shoulder doesn't bother me all that much. It usually is not a serious injury, although the propensity for the separation to occur again can be there. If so, however, a minor surgery can restore the shouler to 100%. I know, because I've had it.
