CB Bradley Roby (2x All B1G)

Get well Bradley, but IMO, his loss won't be as bad as losing Noah. A solid pass rush to disrupt tahj Boyd is more important, and fsu showed that. If our line can pressure and cause mistakes, our DBs have to convert that into turnovers. And we can do that without roby in the game. I'm confident in doran, vonn, tyvis and cj, Armani not so much yet. Hopefully cam can see a number of reps in the game to get physical with Clemson's WRs

When did this news come out? I'm in Ireland and all the football news centers on something strange where you can't run with the ball or throw it.

Just this week in Florida. He has been seen running on the sidelines and not participating in drills. Bone bruise from Big title game. Still bothering him. (Tim May)
I bet he plays but maybe not the whole game.

This afternoon, head coach Urban Meyer said the defense would likely be without another star: cornerback Bradley Roby.

Meyer said Wednesday that he didn't think Roby would be able to play vs. Clemson on Friday night.

Roby's loss is even bigger than Spence's, because he was the one player in the secondary who was playing at an extremely high level. Now Ohio State could have new starters in three spots when they go to the nickel package against the Tigers' high-scoring passing attack. And Roby would have been the guy to try and stop Clemson star receiver Sammy Watkins.

Instead, Ohio State finds itself playing shorthanded on defense.

"That''s tough," Meyer said. "What's my confidence level? We recruited a lot of them and we coached a lot of them. I have a lot of respect for our players. I'm anxious to see Tyvis Powell and Vonn Bell at the safety positions. Josh Perry is one of the most improved players on our team. We've got [Ryan] Shazier. So we've got some very good players."

Roby not playing in the Orange Bowl is a huge loss. How do these bone bruises work anyway? I mean he was able to return to the B1GCG after the injury, and now, even with 20+ days off to heal he can't go at all?
Are you asking this as a veiled suggestion that Roby is not playing because he doesn't want to? Because if that's what you're suggesting, I'm upset with you.

If you're really asking how bone bruises affect the sufferer, let me suggest the following link:

Man he must really be hurting. No way in heck you would keep me out of this game if I was able to wear pads.

Going to miss him if he can't go.

This would be a huge showcase game for Roby if he was healthy, but it could go the other way if he played hurt. If he played injured and got burned a few times it could really hurt his draft stock. In that case he's probably better sitting out and trying to impress at the combine when he is 100%.

... said someone who has never played a contact sport.

Or just an honest question from someone who's never had a bone bruise on the knee before.

Sheesh... I know I don't post much, but the last thing I am is a troll.

Obviously I'm aware someone can continue playing and then miss the bowl game (e.g. D. Gardner).

Maybe I could have phrased the question better and maybe I've missed the discussion, but I didn't see much content on the nature of his injury, compared to say Braxton's MCL sprain earlier in the year where it was given a lot of attention, especially recovery time.
