Are you kidding me? Howard and Roby weren't even 5* recruits which obviously means they cannot be considered as "lockdown" corners....

Ohio State has been so spoiled with cornerbacks that we seem to believe that all of their corners are worthy of the appellation "lockdown".

To me; Shawn Springs and Antoine Winfield were lockdown corners. Very few since have deserved that title.

This is pretty truthy. Malcolm Jenkins was known to lock people down...I'd say he's the closest since Winfield. The term lockdown corner gets thrown out WAY too much. Some teams have a lockdown corner, no teams have two. No team has one every year. tOSU does not have 3.

When I think of a Buckeye cornerback I don't necessarily think lockdown. I think solid coverage downfield, limited big plays and the ability to put a tailback on his ass in the open field with near 100% certainty.

Except for the use of the word truthy, I agree completey.

Chris Gamble certainly qualified. He, Winfield, Doug Plank, Mike Sensibaugh and Jack Tatum were the best DBs I have ever seen in Buckeye uniform. (Subjective, I acknowledge.)
