It makes you wonder if players run out the door early...they must figure hell if I'm going to get criticized on twitter I might as well be drawing a check. Judging by how people are reacting on facebook it wouldn't surprise me if Braxton bolted.

That's exactly the point that I was trying to make. Not calling you a troll, but saying, in effect what you were just saying... That you've never suffered from xxx injury before.
In contact sports by mid-teens, you've either had it happen or witnessed one of your teammates with something like this. Broken shoulders, arms, legs... It sucks, and as a coach it's the worst part of the experience for me to see a kid go down, but it happens.
Troll no, lucky to not have had an injury like this... Yup.

Give me a break. This goes on everywhere. You think Bama is any better? Texas? LSU? UM? It's the world we live in. Twitter is just a message board that the players actually visit and read. It's tailor made for knee jerk, emotional, stupid venting. That's what I'm doing right now. I'm just not on Twitter. The only people that will read my rants are the people that sign up and choose to be on the Buckeyeplanet message board.
Roby needs to get some thicker skin. He didn't play well this season. He was an All American last year and was supposed to be the lock down corner on the defense. Instead he was often targeted for big plays. Fans are going to bash him at a big time school like Ohio State just like they will when he goes to the NFL. The only guys on defense that get a pass IMO are Shazier and Bosa. Braxton is going to get it as well. He doesn't look like a big time QB and people are going to put that and worse on Twitter. If it bothers you that much don't read it.
If getting their feelings hurt on Twitter is the reason they say they are going then they were already gone, IMO.
EDIT: That said, Biddle shouldn't be tweeting nonsense like that. He's supposed to be a guy that is "in the know." His speculation on Twitter could be considered more damaging than the average fan. Either way, it comes with the territory.

My youngest is tough as nails... and a bone bruise impacted him immensely for a couple months... when HE would admit something hurt, I knew it was very significant.. and that bone bruise kicked his ass

There's a segment of this fanbase that just really disgusts me sometimes.
They sit there and criticize the Penn State fans, Bama fans and others, yet act 10 times worse. We can really do without them. They are an embarrassment to the rest of Buckeye Nation. I really, really hope that none of them reside here on BP.

Yep. They think they are owed something by a bunch of college kids. You likely have a piece of shit life if you are on Twitter ridiculing teenagers and guys in their early twenties for losing a football game.
But as for Roby, really enjoyed watching him the last 3 years and wish him the best in the league.

I don't care if it goes on everywhere; just because something happens doesn't mean it is right. These people who direct the spiteful comments at college players are absolute losers. I think most athletes can distinguish between 'player x didn't have as good a year as expected' and a tweet such as the one I saw directed at Philly Brown stating something like 'you lost the game I hope you die.'
If anyone knows someone that directs spiteful messages toward college kids (OSU or not) at a minimum you should at least speak up and tell the loser to stop.

my daughter is a fastpitch catcher and suffered from a bone bruise on her right knee and it costs her two months and was very painful. her ortho said the only way to heal it was rest and lots of anti-inflamatories. She tried to play though it but she couldn't even get in a crouch. I'm going to side with Roby here based on my kid's personal experience. I consider my daughter to be tough as nails, too.

I don't know if we're better or worse than Bama and the lot, but based on what I've seen of them from the outside looking in, I'd like for us to be. I'm not sure if we live up to that standard, but that's what I want as a member of the community.
And honestly the kind of venting you're doing here doesn't approach the worst kind of abuse that players sometimes receive on Twitter or through other other means. I understand your comparison and everyone here needs an opportunity to vent in a constructive manner, but if the way you were going about it were in any way like the worst of what goes on via Twitter, you wouldn't still be posting here. I'm not saying that to be flippant, it's just the truth of the way the general fanbase interacts versus the way we try to have things take place at BP.

Totally agree. My post was in the vein of players using it as a reason to a] not come to Ohio State or b] leave early.
The people who tweet venom are louts. Anyone tweeting anything about dying should be naturally selected right out of the population.
We aren't better than that, unfortunately. Every fan base has its own lunatic fringe and that's never going to change. There are people who are WAY too invested in the performance of a team who, at the end of the day, shouldn't have any bearing on their lives. The people sending horrifying messages on Twitter are the ones whose identity is wrapped up in a team that they have nothing to do with. That's why Twitter works. It gives those people a voice. An immediate, knee jerk voice. If Twitter were run like BP then they would, unfortunately, be out of business.
