Can't blame the kid from having fun with this? Whenever in life can one play with the emotions of hundreds/thousands of college football fans, hoping for their team's outcomes. My scenario is that he lines up the hats on the table, picks up the UX hat, tosses it away and dons the S&G one. But yeah, he's having a good time with this, getting greated like a princeling on official visits, listening to all the blather about how important he is to X team, and how he'll make AA there. Great for the ego, I'd bet (never got that myself). Go Bucks

The “be a villain” pitch has to send up some red flags, yeah? Especially when it relates directly to your relationship with your dad.

I’ll leave it at that as I don’t want to run afoul of the swearing rules in the recruiting forum.

Not a fan of this recruitment AT ALL.

I realize everyone handles their “moment” differently and they “only get to do it one time” so people say to just let them enjoy the process. It’s not how I would handle my business, but in this narcissistic, get paid more by having more limelight society…..I understand the financial side. Personally I wouldn’t take that path but that’s just me.

I hope I am able to be a fan of this young man on the field and this will all be forgotten.

Or, he will be a villain indeed and I’ll loathe him the rest of my days.

There’s no middle ground.

I again, don't understand the anger at this kid for playing the game. It has been on record from numerous recruiting analysts that kids are being educated on how to monetize their name, image and likeness. Sorry, but him just coming out and professing his love for OSU doesn't move the needle except with OSU fans. Your followers on social media have shown that is how these kids can earn a larger check. I'm not sure that many people, if you took off your fan hat wouldn't do the same, especially as a 17yo kid. None of this will be remembered when Scott is hoisting trophies in scarlet and gray
And I'm sure he and his dad are laughing at all of this entertainment. Especially since dad is also going to benefit monetarily from his sons decision.
