CB Aaron Scott Jr. (National Champion, transfer to ???)

CFP playoff has a final four of Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, and fucking world beating juggernaut Indiana. How is that stale?

Not gonna lie, whenever I hear fans espouse this, it's always fans of blue blood programs who are upset their programs can't stack talent anymore due to NIL and the portal. College football definitely has issues but this is the most parity the sport has seen in decades. Possibly ever. Certainly within my lifetime.

I mean, as a fan of a blue blood, you're right, and you can count me into that group as well.

Fuck parity, I wanna see the historical giants go at it, and the fact that it benefitted my favorite team more than others is absolutely part of that. Nothing could possibly interest me in natty between ole miss and Indiana.

For the record, all the changes that allowed this parity shift were absolutely needed, and college football is better for it in principle.

Doesn't change the fact that I hate what it's done to OSUs position.

Was looking forward to Scott contributing on a high level next year. But such is life.

We won a natty beat scUM. Did players leave because of playing time or development. I don’t think the staff was surprised by anyone that left even if fans and ‘insiders’ were. TOSU will field a competitive team next year. The handwringing after last year was overdone.,Pretty damn good reloading year.

Oh I'm with you, I understand my viewpoint is completely selfish, irrational, and based on unfounded fear of the future. Still my viewpoint though.

It was mine as well before last year.. smarter people than me said after the shadow payments were neutralized it’s not coming back. I only w concern myself with the Bucks a loss to Alabama Georgia or Indiana or Miami is still a loss.

That's fine but don't act like NIL and the portal are killing the sport. I wish more people would be like you and admit you're pissed because your favorite team isn't benefiting anymore from the old system.

As do I. I think all the change is actually great for college football. Just fearful of how great/not great it might be for OSU.

We are going to get a lot of this with the elimination of the spring portal.

With the spring portal Scott & West likely at least stick it out through then, battle, see where they stand at that point and then make a decision in the spring window. But now these kinds of guys are forced to make the decision now.

Who tf is gonna play cb lol?
Well, the answer is probably Jermaine Mathews, Jr, Devin Sanchez, and whoever they sign from the transfer portal.

It is about Scott because this is probably mostly about money.

You have to wonder if it is about playing time and/or money; and what conversations he has had with the coaches.....:shake:

This is not one of the good transfers. There is some general fallout after the way the season ended and some guys were going pro regardless, but there will end up being quite a few transfers that the staff didn't want. Scott is as good as gone from what I understand and we would have relied on him heavily next year, but now we're scrambling in the portal to find comparable talent that is far from guaranteed.

I wish Aaron nothing but the best, but hopefully the staff can stop the bleeding on remaining players eligible to return.

Apparently he was unhappy, but why?

I think he was unhappy that a true frosh beat him out for more PT. And also I had heard of maturity issues off the field. Idk specifics, but that's what was said on multiple pods
He feels that way based on what was being relayed to him by his coaches and felt that he worked towards those standards, and was playing well enough to be getting more PT. The staff apparently told him he still wasn't ready to get significant PT despite trying to meet the coaches standards. Keep in mind this info is going to be slanted more towards Scott, but it seems like the staff said good riddance to a player at a position of serious need. If the character issues really existed, I'm fine with it. Springfield folks don't agree at all with that assessment and think it's more of a personal rift rather than merit. Tifwiw.
