Why am I mad right now??
- Because we lost. No
- Because the Pistons shot more free throws than us. No
-Because the refs made a horrible call on LBJ when they said he pushed Wallace in the back when the so called push wouldnt of knocked an empty pop can over. No
- Because the refs clearly missed a 24 shot clock violation. No
I am pissed for one because we played scared as hell through the first 2.5 quarters. I think when we got the early lead in the first half they were thinking I wish this game could end now and we could get the win. You could just see it, when the Pistons went on their 19-2 run(which basically won the game) that we were not attacking not playing D, giving open shots, layups, dunks, 3's. It was frustrating to watch b/c we were playing scared. You could see how much better we were when we were taking it to the rack kicking for the open 3's and playing tough on D.
I am also pissed beacause at times I think I could be an armchair coach and tell Mike Brown what he needs to tell his team, and use as strategy. I was screaming at the tv to double Rasheed b/c he was eating Gooden alive. Well when they ran that second guy at him, he went scoreless. Then I was screaming to look for the backside corner, when they would actually attack b/c Donyell was standing their picking his ass waiting for the ball.
I am also pissed that Tayshaun is scoring as much on LBJ. That is just sickening, b/c as much energy as he should be wasting on the defensive end, he is still able to eat up LBJ on the offensive end.
Ok now to the positive side of things. Most of knew we werent going to win this series, no I am not giving up, just being real, some like myself had a slither of hope, and I still think there is a chance we can get back in it at home. Reasons for me thinking this:
We are at home, and I think that playing in Detroit our players play scared. We will be in the comfort of the Q, where we play much better and we will be able to feed off our home crowd, which had better be rockin'.
We showed in the last quarter and a half, that we can score on them, we can move the ball and take it to the rack, and draw fouls on them. We also showed that we can D them up. Hughes did one hell of a job on Rip tonite and limited him to only 1 fg, even know he had a shit load of free throws, a couple of which were questionable, but a star is going to get those calls in the NBA @ home.
Another positive is LBJ showed that if he trys to take the game over he can, and he needs to split the help defense, b/c he showed that he can do that.
And last but not least, I honestly think our best team on the floor would be DJ, Hughes, LBJ, Donyell, Andy. These guys are willing to go that extra step on D, and DJ showed that he is capable of playing D on these guys, as he really showed tonite. I know at times he has struggled, but he did a great job on Billups when in.
I also would like to see Hughes not be scared and take it right at those big guys. There were times when he did and he scored. Enough with the fade away bull shit from all of our guys, if you shit gets blocked so what, take that shit right back at em.
