Cavs 2010-11 season (official thread)

I predict just like he is actively recruiting players for Miami and did not for the Cavs.... he will also give effort as to not dissapoint the alpha male on the team. He will give a full effort making it even worse in the break up.... we will be saying "Why didnt he do this with us".... he didnt want it to work in Cleveland and no one held him accountable for it. He wont want to dissapoint his new dad Pat Riley and his older brother D Wade....

I think he wants it to succeed so bad because if it doesn't his regret will be exponentially greater.

he looked pretty good the other night when he scored 17...but i wouldnt expect him to make the roster...i would rather have telfair anyways...but pooh is a great nickname

It'd be nice if Jeter was available around mid-season when/if Mo gets traded.

Fuck Telfair, Pooh Jeter must make the roster! That might make me take an interest in the nba again.

he's a much better representation of the Cavs.......:shake:

I'll never understand the mindset of an athlete making millions of dollars a year that can't call a cab. Idiots

He fucked LeBronze's mom. Our silly "laws" do not apply to this man. :groove3:

Not sure if any of you caught Windhorst's tweet yesterday:

If it seems like Cavs are missing out on free agents, well, they are. Right now they'd have to overpay to get people to CLE. Not willing.
Mixed feelings on this. I feel like if we don't do much in the off-season--if anything--we are probably in better shape for this first year. Even if we aren't, it may help us land a future mega star in the draft.

im actually hoping we dont even sign matt barnes...in the NBA your either terrible or contending...and if your in the middle it doesnt get any better...so you might as well be one of the two...other then JJ and Eyenga, possibly Varejo we dont have anything else to build around for the future...jamison is old, mo is around lebrons age and while great offensively during regular season we all know about his defense, not going to build around parker or moon, gibson is who he is and you can go thru the rest of the lineup...i say if we aquire any FA's it should be younger players like conley or Flynn...not barnes

I am somewhat concerned, though, because this doesn't seem to bode well for Cleveland being able to attract big-name FAs in the future.

Bingo. I thought I hated Wade's style of play ((1) drive the lane, (2) slam into a defender, (3) throw the ball in the general vicinity of the hoop, (4) dive onto the floor, (5) remain on the floor and feign injury to get the call and the sympathy of the announcers and hometown crowd, not to mention the accolades of some buffoon on SportsCenter the next morning, (6) get the call and shoot the free throws, (7) repeat) before the Heat got James. That garabage will be all the more unwatchable now the Quitter is on the team.

no big name FA wants to really come to cleveland. no big name FA wants to come to a shitty cleveland team on top of it.

if the cavs were like the Thunder, with a core nucleus of young talent locked up for the forseeable future, they could easily overpay for a big name FA.

His style of play is a microcosm of what is wrong with the nba. It's that garbage that has driven me away from the game.

Any word on why McCants didn't play at all for the Cavs in the summer league? I read an interesting article on him yesterday in ESPN the magazine, and it seems like he's the type of player that could really help the Cavs rebuild, if given the chance.

Only thing i saw was I think a note or twitter basically saying he didn't show up.

found it. via Brian Windhorst twitter

<Cavs assistant coach Paul Pressey on McCants: "I have not seen him, he never showed up. I was kind of looking forward to seeing him." 6:10 PM Jul 16th via web
In ESPN Mag this month Rasard McCants complains about being misunderstood. But then he just didn't show up for Cavs summer league. 6:09 PM Jul 16th via web
