Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

Somebody must have beat Mike Brown at a game or Rock Paper Scissors or something, because the team got to take the end of regulation and overtime off too. Not a single non-LeBron player scored after the 2:55 mark in the 4th. The defense was lousy too.

losing to teams like the Grizzlies and Bobcats

not exactly encouraging

this team coasts way too often for my liking. they think they can simply flip a switch and win.

but, that being said, it took randolph and gay shooting absolute garbage shots and hitting everything, as well as mo williams, hickson and AV playing like total garbage for this loss to happen.

And LBJ having the worst 40+ point performance I can remember. In the second half he just looked sloppy on both ends.

Mike Brown should have been fired yesterday. This team still sucks on offense, takes nights off defensively, and his 100% set in stone rotations are an embarrasement to coaching world-wide.

He will without a doubt go down as the reason the Cavs never won a title while LeBron was in Cleveland. And if we're lucky enough to keep LBJ in Cleveland, I'm about 99% certain its without Brown leading the charge.

The parallels between him and Romeo Crennel really are astounding.

I even feel bad ripping him b/c he seems like such a nice guy...but its terrible. The line-ups, rotations, substitution patterns, stubburness....its just incomprehendable.

All the Cavs need is a game manager and someone who can put together some type of an offense. They have neither right now.

the loss last night had nothing to do with mike brown. it had to do with having a handful of guys playing on cruise control for extended stretches because they think they can flip a switch whenever they want, and they can't.

by the by, take some time to listen to and read windhorst's podcasts and such, you'll change your tune a bit as to why the Cavs are struggling.

If you think my rant had anything to do with last night, you're wrong. It's more of the set in stone substitution patterns, and unwillingness to make necessary adjustments to win ballgames. Every now and then it might be OK to leave LeBron in a close game, or to put him in during the middle of a run. Just once in a while maybe...

And whose fault is it that the team feels like it can turn a switch on and off? I was at the Bobcats game, and they definately play in spurts. Isn't that part of the coaches job though? That was also a classic night where Cleveland was digging back in, and it came time for LeBron's rest so he went to the bench, and by the time he came back in they were down 16 or so...

lebron is the only one with set substitution pattern. the rest get the hook or get extended PT based upon game circumstances. weren't people here bitching just a week ago because mike brown rode the hot hand of his small lineup in the Dallas game, and Z got no time? Mike Brown is by no means a superstar coach, but some of you are so over the top about him that it's sad.

as for the cavs be a team of spurts, that is mostly a function of the team composition. Lebron, JJ, Mo, Z, and to an extent AV are all players that are spurty players. guess what happens when you put a bunch of streaky players together on the court, the team goes in spurts.

I do find it somewhat ironic that the one guy on the cavs that has probably been the most even keeled, and consistent performer is the guy that is bipolar.

Damn Shaq is llooking fat slow and ttoasted against Portland

couple that with varajao and jj hickson engaging in a game of one-upsmanship over who can be the more incompetant PF.

this is another lazy lifeless performance from this team. it's becoming a far too common occurance.
