Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

I'll tell you what, that one bucket and 1 for Lebron was just nasty. Flipping it with his left hand I believe and his back turned to the hoop, good lord this guy can do it all. Hopefully he can lead us to BIG THINGS this year!!

I'd be happier if he could convert the free throw. Wait, that's nitpicking.

This year he has been(especially lately). At least, moreso than he did last year. He was at around 80% for a while there FT shooting but I think it may have dipped a bit, but probably gone back up lately.

This is one of those years folks. I know that feeling. Felt it with the Tribe in '95 and '97, feeling it again. Hopefully this story has a better ending though...
Yep, I feel it too. Although I think it feels much more like the '95 Tribe that destroyed everybody over the '97 team that only won 87 games. Hopefully the Cavs can get homecourt throughout the playoffs something the Tribe didn't have in either of those World Series'. I just can't see anybody beating this team in a seven game series right now especially if the Cavs have home court.

Last night' box score. West had a great night, and Hickson also played well.
Hickson is only 20 years old, if he improves the way I think he will, we really have something!

Man if only the Cavs could have done something with the rest of their first round picks other than JJ and Lebron. Boobie's the only other recent good pick they've had at all. They have some salary flexibility the next 2 years, but after that (hopefully) they are going to be capped out for the near future. They need to make every draft pick count from now on. It does look like JJ was a good start. By the time Z and Ben come off the books he'll be ready to roll at the 4. They just need to find a way to resign Andy this off season.

I think they'll re-sign Andy.

Then, they move into the LeBron II era(2010) with a core of:

LeBron 26
Mo 28
Andy 28
Boobie 24
JJ 22
Delonte27
Darnell 25 (if still around)

Not a bad core. Plug in some depth with a big and a big 2 and they should have a decent team for a while.

Boozer was a good pick, and BTW the Jazz fans would now love to get rid of him:biggrin:

I would love to have a healthy Boo$er, but I think the Cavs are actually better off for him leaving. They would have never made the Gooden/Andy trade if Boo$er hadn't bolted. All the injuries is Karma biting him in the ass for being a dick.
How great would it be to be able to go back in time 5 years and take over as GM? 5 years of all the right moves would stack any team.

the old regime definately didn't do a great job with draft picks. that 1st rounder for jiri welsh turned out great.

you can always harken back to taking vitali potapenko over kobe bryant.

LBJ- no brainer, but
Kapono, Boozer, B Haywood, J Crawford and Andre Miller all turned out to be pretty decent players.

Of course, they also drafted Shannon Brown, Luke Jackson , D Wagner and my personal favorite: Trajan Langdon.
