Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

Yep Yep. Bad turnovers and coaching in the second half to go with it. Williams looks good, but in order to win this division they have to start faster than usual- and that should begin now.

bad turnovers and bad coaching have been a constant thing with this team throughout the years

I know its only one game but they are basically doing the same thing they always do, which leads me to believe that it will be this way all year again

ya...the substitution pattern tonight has been awful. I've truned the game off though, as I could immediately tell Boston was, no matter what, going to win th egame tonight. Stern in the house, championship ring night, fans in a frenzy.....not saying the NBA went into the game saying "Boston Must Win This Game", but officials are human too....this game was a joke even when Cleveland got out to an early lead. The And 1's, the make-up calls, the lack of calls on the Cavs end....it wasn't going to happen tonight.

Yeah it really is time for Brown to go. Now we can be sure it's all on him and not lack of talent.

Holy damn on that allie oop from Mo to LeBron there.

the first "and 1" Pierce got was absolutely ridiculous

they showed the replay and Z was nowhere near touching him

all you have to do is put your hands up on defense against him and its a foul apparently

They talk about LeBron getting favorable calls and bitching, but Pierce is among the leagues best.

Pierce gets WAY MORE calls than LeBron because Pierce acts, and he acts A LOT. To the point where he has to be wheeled off of a court. The guy has pattented his move, where on pick and rolls, he fakes getting launched into the second row when there is zero contact.

I'm being 100% serious..look for it...he dips his head and raises it really fast to simulate contact.

Oh yeah I've noticed. Should be interesting to see Greg after LeBrons done with us tonight.

Some things never change...

Mike Browns rotation sucking...

Turnovers and lots of missed shots in early season games...

Fans always bitching in this thread...

It was the first night...Obvoiusly Boston gets calls in Boston...Obviously it was a game that we have every reason to believe we should of won...

But we have seen bitching about LBJ choking, shooting free throws, Brown sucking, Pierce faking calls, And 1's, can't win without a #2, going to see no improvement all year with turnovers...

Overall both teams played poorly and our guys didn't pull it out...

I did see a second team that should be able to keep us in games when LBJ goes out, but I would like to see Mo in there some with them...

Whatever it is the first game of the year we have a long way to go, but tonight once again proves to me that we are just as good as Boston as did last season and the playoffs...The home team has won every game and if we can take care of the ball and hit shots on the road we can beat them, and if you want to call Boston the best team in the league we are right there with them...

Nah, he was busy with the olympics.

I freakin hate Boston. Why does Brown even take a timeout? Take the plane home and accept you're not going to win the division this year.

There were some positives tonight. Clevealnd has a MUCH BETTER second line. In the past, it has been borderline D-League.

Don't let tonight discourage ypu too much...there were a lot of phantom calls that kept Boston righ tin it, and lots of contact on the Cavs side that went unnoticed.

I still don't think Clevealnd can win it all without a legit #2, but as of today, I think they can easily compete with Boston.

I will be pleased if they get to the point where they beat the teams they should beat, which has been the biggest problem in the past. Playing the NBA champs in their house is a tough game to win. Sure I would like to see Lebron hit more FT's, but they were in the game the whole time and could have won if some calls went the other way. Just come back and whoop on the Bobcats on Thursday.
