Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

I think the Cavs just get suckered into playing the fast paced game when they play teams like the Suns, Kings, and Warriors(and to a lesser extent the Clippers).

Good news for us is that teams in the playoffs don't play that style of basketball.

It's easy for teams and players to forget to run plays and slow things down when the other team is running up and down the court firing up shots five seconds into the shot clock. As long as we dont make a habit of playing this style, we'll be fine.

I thought it was fairly funny....I was watching the game on the Kings network, and LeBron is about to take a free-throw and the official passes him the ball. The announcer says "that basketball looks like a peach in his hand". The other announcer says, "you know how people say all men are created equal? It's a lie. Look at that guy on the free throw line."

it's a bit more than that. And the Clippers weren't pushing it the other night either. The Kings were making everything they looked at in the first quarter, but things like closing out on shooters, defensive rebounding, and just bone-headed defensive plays have become a regularity until they deceide to turn it on.

Most frustrating play of the night.....Bobby Jackson gets an offensive rebound over Anderson and Mo, they trap Jackson on the baseline until Anderson leaves to cover a cutter, and Mo gives up baseline for no reason at all. Bobby walks it in for a lay-up. Smallest guy on the court gets the offensive board, and then dribbles in uncontested for a lay-up after being trapped on the baseline. It's just bad, frustrating basketball for 3 quarters right now, and it will bite them in the ass if they don't straighten it out soon.

Okay, this has to be something that doesn't happen very often...but LeBron led, not just the Cavs, but BOTH teams in:

Points, Assists, Rebounds, Offensive Rebounds, Steals, and Blocks

haha and turnovers too...not that it's a good stat...but those are the 6 main stats for a game, and he was the leader amoung everyone on the court...come on...somebody needs to find out when the last time this happened was.

Upon further review, he did not lead all players in steals: Randolph and Gordon both had 2 steals, as did LeBron. You can't break down offensive rebounds also because if you did, then you'd have to count defensive rebounds and he didn't lead both teams in defensive rebounds, Randolph did.

I'll keep searching for the answer to your original question. I imagine , at least, one among Bird, Magic or Jordan had to do it.

I knew that...he was still the co-leader. So I think that still counts. I knew he didn't lead in defensive rebounds...but he did in offensive rebounds, so why not just throw that in there too, lol.

What is going on with the 3rd quarters lately? They have totally reverted back to their old form after seemingly getting past this earlier this season. In a battle with the Knicks, up 4 with about 7:30 left in the 4th...
