Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

I hate the Celtics. It seems like every time they play the Cavs some bench player like Eddie House of Leon Powe or whoever has the game of their life.

Really though there are no excuses tonight. They got to the line way more than you'd expect on the road in this situation, and they were bricking FTs left and right.

just goes to show how much home-court means. The Cavs ripped Boston a new one in Cleveland, but can't oversome the Celtics advantage in Boston either. I think the last 15 times they've played the home team has won.

Overall I like Clevelands roster, but the truth is, the home team mentally has the edge.

Would love to see Cleveland play some consistent good defense. Sometimes it just seems like they assume it will be at a high level and it doesn't work like that.

Really thought we were going to get over the mental edge tonight...

The Celtics just got way too many open looks and knocked down all shots...Shot 54%...

We also killed our selves from the line, and against the Celtics we need to have Z taking more than 8 shots, and we need West to get back into rhythm...He has struggled some the last couple games...

No emotion tonight.... Defense was horrible and we seemed to split every pair of free throws that we had. I just expected alot more enthusiasm for this game. I know its just one game, but they just seem to come out flat against good teams this year compared to last year when they played down to there opponents, complete opposite this year. If I have to watch Pierce flex and yell at the top of his lungs at the ceiling again Im just going to end it.

Boston has a way of making good players look average, they did it to Kobe last year and I remember saying "he's just had his worst game at the worst time" where the reality was they did the same thing to him that they did to LBJ tonight, he wasn't getting any free looks.

I think this is huge....Delonte was all-world his first game back, and I think everyone just assumed he "was back". He has been downright dreadful in almost every game he's been back with exception to the Detroit game. Awful field-goal percentage and awful assist to turnover ratio. The good news is there is still time for him to find a rhythm, but I completely agree about his play. I think it has been the difference between close wins and huge wins, and I think it really hurts the team in a game like tonight.

Houston has really created a book not that it was ever a secret, but when Delonte isn't hitting, teams just pack it in.

Ugly overall effort tonight, I agree on the emotion, it was pitiful. It's like they took the night off because KG wasn't playing. I don't think it's a home-road situation, because as game 1 of last years series proved- emotions run high on the road. Just seemed to be a "night off" attitude. Disappointing we couldn't get a 2 game lead, but hell, if we're really the better team we can win 1 in Boston anyway.

I'd say the same thing for Boston, too. If they're better, they'll beat us in Cleveland regardless.
