Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

What a boring game overall.

A lot of standing around. No crowd. No atmosphere. LeBron missing large chunks because of fouls. Missed shots.

Is there anything else on?

that is why I compared it to Ohio State vs. Wisconsin.

Perhaps I should have called it Wisconsin vs. Washington State.

Just brutal offense. Shooting in this arena seems the equivalent of shooting in East Lansing. It's just been ugly.

This game is being overly officiated, it feels like the officials are dictating the pace of the game.

I think it is more of Houston's style combined with Cleveland's unfamiliartity with the arena. The shooting honestky reminds me of opposing teams going into MSU....you just don't shoot well.

Wide open shots are clanking off the rim, Mo's pull-up jumper keeps missing, Z can't find a rhythm, LeBron keeps firing, but hasn't found it and Delonte is showing some rust.

Just a tough night on the road....

honestly, just tell them to go out and play like the Knicks. Attack the rim, don't worry about taking bad shots because good shots aren't going down anyways, and quit letting Houston dictate the pace.

No such thing as a bad shot in the 4th quarter tonight.....just push it and forget about everything else.

as a sidenote, what is worse, living in Alaska with no light for multiple months, or being a Houston Rockets fan?? Holy God.

This is being officiated like a college game. Obvious stuff goes uncalled while they blow the whistle on ticky tack stuff 35 feet from the basket.

Violet Palmer is the worst NBA official in the game.

Whenever I turn on the TV and see her officiating I strongly consider just turning the TV back off.

I don't think the officiating has been that bad. We aren't making any shots and Yao is killing us down low.

Yao now has two highlight plays on LeBron.

Plus Von Wafer is having his way.

Just a terrible night for the Cavs.

I wouldn't worry about LeBron limping to the sideline, appears to be more of pride brusing than anything. Yao ate his lunch several times tonight. China is smiling.

Have to love the intelligence level of Shane Battier....I hate the guy as a player for his flopping ability, but he just understands the game.

This game has been over since the beginning of the 4th quarter, but after a made 3 to cut the lead to 14, he intentionally fumbled the basketball, and then waited 3 seconds to enter the ball into play without any contest from the Cavs.

I've always wondered that about half-court set teams. If your goal is to shorten the game, why not hold the ball 4 seconds before inbounding the ball on a made bucket if your opposition is not defending the entry pass. You could kill a lot of time out of the game.....
