I have misplaced my pants.
Time to give some rep to my fellow Case nerds.

Case claims first outright UAA title

Sunday, November 04, 2007 Joe Maxse

Plain Dealer Reporter
Case Western Reserve quarterback Dan Whalen has been beating teams with his arm and legs all season. On Saturday, the sophomore was called upon to show off his defensive skills.
Whalen's tackle of lumbering Bob Pine at the Case 13 after a wild, last-gasp, lateral-filled punt return sealed Case's 35-27 win against Washington (Mo.) University at Case Field. It also set off a joyous celebration as the undefeated Spartans (9-0, 3-0 University Athletic Association) won their first outright UAA title.

Hey Nordberg, if I remember correctly, Case Western has all-time 1-1 record against the Buckeyes. Just saying...

:pirate1:

Damn, I love that smiling pirate. He's got some pretty sweet moves too.

We need to bring them to Columbus for a game just to rectify that situation. Hell, we're bringing in every other Ohio school. One of our alumni is their new president, so I'm sure that she'll get on board with the program.

tOSU's record against Case Institute of Technology was 11-10-2. The teams played every year from 1902-1918, and tOSU won the last 7 games to get the lead in the series.

tOSU's record against Western Reserve was 5-6-1, with tOSU's 1934 win the only time they played since 1913.

According to Wikipedia, Case Western Reserve was formed in 1967 from those two institutions. So overall, a .500 mark seems to be accurate.

So, what you're trying to tell me is a 0-0 record isn't .500??? The next thing you're going to tell me is you can't divide by zero. Or there's no such thing as infinity plus one. Or the square root of -9 is 3i. Or an object with a positive mass can not physically move faster than the speed of light.

Picky picky. How do you know all of this crazy math crap, BB? Did you go to Case or something?

No, but I've always had folks on my case.

You said 1-1, which is .500, which was the correct overall %. I didn't need any imaginary numbers to get there. :tongue2:

I guess that Yertle didn't understand that you added Case's record with Western Reserve's record to get 16-16-3. I get the feeling sometimes that if Elmo isn't the one explaining things to Yertle, he isn't going to follow the conversation.

I don't really understand Elmo. Now, the Swedish Chef is an entirely different story!!! All of my cooking knowledge, singing ability, and eyebrow growing skills are thanks to that genius.

That goes without saying. The Swedish Chef is relevant to so many situations. He's probably #2 (behind Homer, of course).

Case Varsity Athletics: News - Page 2

CLEVELAND, OH - The Case Western Reserve University football team will not only make its first playoff appearance in University history Saturday, but it will host a NCAA Division III first round game at Case Field. The Spartans will face Widener University (Chester, Pa.) at 12:00 p.m. (Bracket)

Case Western Reserve ended the regular season averaging 36.5 points per game, while allowing its opponents only 14.1.

I don't think that they scored 36 points combined in the 5 years that I managed the first-down chains there.
