Case Western Reserve University

They let you do that without pants?

Funny story - it started out as a fraternity prank. And it wasn't even a fraternity that I was in. Since I wasn't in that fraternity, it wouldn't seem right to expose the secrets of the prank. But they include four 9-irons, an easter basket, 17 pairs of panty-hose, and me with no pants.

No - they made me wear pants.

Case continues on to the second round of the Div. III playoffs with a 21-20 victory! They host Wabash next.

CLEVELAND, OH (November 17, 2007) - The Case Western Reserve University football team needed all 60 minutes to keep its perfect season alive this afternoon, as in its first playoff game in school history, the Spartans won a 21-20 nail-biter over the Pride from Widener University to move on to the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

The Spartans were down 20-15 with 1:27 remaining in the game, when sophomore quarterback Dan Whalen (Willoughby, OH) led the Spartans on a 14-play, 73-yard drive, capping it off by hitting senior wide receiver Jeff Mayer (Vermillion, OH) in the end zone with two seconds left on the clock for the game-winning touchdown. Whalen converted on three fourth downs on the final drive.

#14 WABASH 38, #15 CASE 23...

CLEVELAND, OH (November 24, 2007)
- For the first time this season, the Case Western Reserve University football team ended a Saturday without a victory, as the Little Giants from Wabash College (11-1) came up big, upending the Spartans (11-1), 38-23, at Case Field to move on to the third round of the Division III NCAA Playoffs. The loss snaps a 12-game winning-streak for the Spartans and ends their record setting season.

Deja vu all over again. :ohwell:

The Little Giants defeated Case in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs a year ago and this time around, the result remained the same. Even with a stout defensive effort and two late touchdowns, Case Western Reserve (10-1) fell, 20-17, to Wabash College (10-1).

With the win, Wabash moves onto the second round of the 2008 playoffs and will host the Wheaton Thunder. Wheaton upset No. 2 seed Trine University in Angola, Indiana.
