Carlton Davis (DB Auburn Tigers)

If you'd ever visit Auburn's campus and its environs you'd get a better idea as to its attractions. Beautiful place, and I have to say that no alumni base I've ever encountered is more staunch in supporting their alma mater. Every single Auburn grad I know (and I know a bunch) absolutely loved their time there and raves about the university.

I understand the narrative here, but it's frankly beneath Ohio State fandom to keep suggesting there's payola involved every time someone wants to attend Auburn. And it insults the player, who in this case remains orally committed to tOSU.

And we fail to suggest the same when a player flips from [insert school here] to tOSU.

Do you honestly think it's the same thing? Tweeting a pic of a stack of cash, Stanley McGlover, and now this?

OK
If you think no player has ever received ... ahem ... monetary inducement from boosters to attend Ohio State, you're living in fantasy land.

Heck, I know of at least one player who received monetary inducement from boosters to attend Mount Union. It happens everywhere. But it doesn't happen all that frequently.

I should have mentioned Travaris Robinson heading to Auburn was also a big reason for them getting back in the mix.

I know his father told ol' 50/50 last night that the in-home is still on and his son is still a Buckeye but I think he is 100% gone. Hope I am wrong but Arnette is likely next on the board followed by Orr.

Of course it's a different world down there.

It's much, much warmer. And this time of year, that's not a bad thing (it is, though, in August).
Actually, they weren't talking about weather. Plus the "hey it's warm here in January" is, for me anyway, totally offset by the oppressive heat of May, June, July , August and September. But that's me.

I'm getting it that Davis is 100% gone. Thanks. Next.

If I'm not mistaken, if this were to happen, this would be the first true flip from Ohio State to another team during the Urban Meyer era. All things considering in this crazy world of college football recruiting, that's pretty remarkable and a testament to our staff's recruiting prowess.

It's bound to happen at some point, whether it's with Carlton or someone else. Makes me feel better knowing that having players flipped from us happens once in a blue moon.

I consider Lewis Neal a "flip," but that's the only other one I can think of. I know the coaches wanted Taivon Jacobs, but were ok with his decision to stay home for bigger reasons.
