Yeah, all signs point to "soft verbal"

First impressions don't affect you as much as others. The reason he was labeled as soft was more to do with the first 3 months of his recruitment, not the last 3 months. It carried over. Sometimes it's hard to let go of what you initially know, like when he said he was just getting started and osu was more his leader than anything when he committed, or in October when he said there's a good chance Miami was going to flip him.

True, UpNorth, true. Even the comment I quoted "Still committed to OSU and not sure if Miami is in the running" shows that somewhat. I mean, if you're committed there is no "in the running" right? :)

I'm beginning to think that the bias of the authors showed through more in his recruitment than others. To some he was 100% OSU, to others he was open. My completely biased and not-based-on-any-facts opinion is that the guy was always pretty solid to OSU, but had a hard time telling others "no", especially his local team (Miami) and coaches with whom he had prior relationships. That and the report that his family was pushing him to stay closer to home made the waters more murky than they actually were.

So how many more schools will be rumored to get visits from Davis, only to be told he won't go? So many reporters just don't want or believe he's going to OSU. Its getting laughable
