Canadian Football League (Official Thread)

One odd CFL rule is the onside punt. On a punt, any player who begins the play behind whoever is receiving the snap is eligible to recover the punt. I've never seen it used this way, but now I'm wondering why not. They got a new set of downs out of it.

Defending Grey Cup champions Toronto went 16-2, matching the best record in CFL history. They were undefeated in the East and unbeaten at home. They had a first round bye, then promptly put on one of the biggest bed-shitting displays in football history.

They lost the East final at home 38-17 to Montreal, who they'd beaten 3 times. They had 10 turnovers (two of them pick sixes) and gave up a kickoff return TD. I'm surprised they only lost by 21 points with all of that fuckery.

The Alouettes will take on Winnipeg or BC for the Cup this year.

Great interview with Austin Mack postgame, holding his child. He'd just become a father this year and thought about giving up on football and looking for work. Montreal called and his wife convinced him to keep chasing his dream. They went to Canada and he had a hell of a season.
