Cameras in the Shoe?

Under "prohibited items" the ticket guide lists "cameras with professional lenses." Wondering if anyone can help with the definition of "professional lens."

My wife has a Pentax camera with a Quantaray Auto/Manual Focus 28-90mm F3.5-5.6 lens. It's a nice piece of equipment and takes some great photos, but we are hardly professionals. Can we take this camera into the Shoe?

We've got seats in the first row of C-Deck for the Miami game (section 7C). I've never had seats before with a totally unobstructed view. I could get some great shots (script Ohio, ramp entrance, from the tunnel the team will be coming right at us). I've taken disposal cameras to games in the past, but I'd like to take the good one for seats like these. What do you think?

Probably good.
T-mounts allow quick switching of telephoto or similar lenses on 35 mm camera bodies.

Another oldie, this is the M42 screw mount, also known as the Pentax, Praktica or Universal screw mount. The little protruding pin at the bottom operates the auto-diaphragm; some very early ones don't have the pin. This fits any screw-mount SLR you're likely to come across, except the M44 Miranda. (Note: the M42 thread is 42mm in diameter with a 1mm pitch. You may encounter a lens with a finer thread, 42mm diameter but about 0.75mm pitch: this would be a "T" mount lens, missing its mount which screws on. With the correct mount, a "T" mount lens can fit anything.) [/font]

Alternative Answer 1 - If you don't know, your camera is not a true Pro Lens carrier - so get those pics of TBDBITL!

Alternative Answer 2 - what is a T-Mount - Typically a T or a Tibor mount is a goat, or a sheep.

when i went to the michigan game last year we had a digital camera and one of the "ushers"/"ticketmen" outside the stadium saw it and just told us to hide in our coat pocket.........we got some great pics cuz we knew a player and he was able to give us tickets. we sat at the 40 yardline 7 rows up :biggrin: . i'll post if you want......

90mm from 7C will get you wide shots that's it...

but if that's all you want then it's fine. I guess!

camera?

I was going in to the first game after 9-11(S.D.U. maybe?) and saw the new sign age.....so I asked the dude(a trooper I think), if it was OK, and he looked at sign, then asked next guy over(another trooper), and interpreted literally....so I ENJOYED MY LOOOOOOOOOONG WALK BACK TO THE CAR!!! dammit, SHOULDN'T HAVE ASKED!!!!!!!! and IT WAS A NORMAL SIZED 35 MIL TOO!!!!!!! Pissed I was!:smash: :smash:

I hope that taught you a lesson...

Next time, don't go out of your way to make it an issue.

Also, if it was a trooper, you should have probably had him ask a Redcoat, since it should be their job to turn back things like that AFAIK

For what it's worth, I had no problem taking in the camera in question when I started this thread. Had it hanging around my neck visible to anyone who was looking. Entered the portal right under the sign that said, inter alia, "no cameras."
