Well the creators of the COD series finally get it- they have one of the best, if not the best FPS system, now they realize all of us folks are tired of playing as our grandfathers 1000000 WWII shooters later, now, something new, and other than Battlefield 2, pretty original. I can't wait for this game.

Thoughts?
 
I played in the multiplayer beta a few months ago, it was solid. I like the way you level up and gain weapons/abilities and the custom class is nice so you're not stuck with a certain set of skills. Single player should be great, maybe 10 hours long or so, but multiplayer is where the game is going to shine. Should bring some people away from Halo 3 (including me, but I'll still play some Halo) and looks to be the best war FPS shooter out until the new Battlefield game arrives in Feb of 2008.

Oh and Infinity Ward is making the game which is always a plus is you're a CoD fan.

I picked up a copy at work a few hours ago. Unfortunately, my internet is out (I'm using my neighbor's wireless).

I will say that I'm very impressed with the single-player so far. I'm not usually a big fan of FPS about war (WWII or modern), but this one is pretty good. Graphics are excellent and the sound is just as good.

I really wanted to play this online tonight.. haha

Wow. This is the best console shooter I have ever played. (Yes Halo fanboys, it even smokes Halo) :)

Almost like they took Rainbow Six Vegas and crossed it with a touch slower, more organized version of Counterstrike. I am very impressed.

Very fun. Got my copy last night and only played online. Having played the beta I think I had somewhat of an advantage because I was dominating in deathmatch. Didn't play all of the maps but the ones I played were great, Crossfire and the rainy one on the farm were awesome. My gun of choice was the M4 with red dot sight, oh and stabbing campers in the back of the head with a knife never got old.

After a solid four hours of online play.. this is quite possibly the best online shooter I've ever played. If there are any old SOCOM II gamers out there, this is the first game since SII that you'll enjoy nearly as much (or just as much).

TF2 is the only rival of COD4, too bad they both came out so close together. Both are SOOOO much better than Halo 3 in my opinion. There's so much depth in these.

Yeah this is the best console shooter ever in my book. That doesnt say a whole lot, because I hate shooters on console, but still.........this game is impressive.

Would get it on PC if my douchebag friends would let me build them a PC that could run it. :biggrin:

Not a big gamer, but I picked up this game while I was trying to recover from the flu last week. And wow, this is the best FPS I have ever played! The single player mode was fun as hell, but very short. The multiplayer is what makes this game. Much funner than the new Halo. Definitely recommend this one.
