2025 CA WR Phillip Bell III has signed his LOI!!!

  • Four-star 2025 wide receiver Phillip Bell: “My Ohio State visit was amazing. The game atmosphere was great. I loved the environment and how the fans are really engaged with everything. The team played great. The offense had an incredible first half and showed what they can do over these next few weeks. The coaches let me know that I’m a priority and that they really want me there. Coach Hartline talked a lot about being different and I know that he can develop me into the best me.”

This may be one year where Hartline is balking at the SFE because of monetary concerns, and trying to make those guys happy.
I have no clue about this recruitment, I didn’t even think he was going to be an option until closer to the season. Figured that he was a similar player to Porter, but it’s going to be interesting on who gets the final 2(maybe 3) spots in the class if Bell is next to commit. Miller from Ontario, OH is camping tomorrow and could also land an offer, and I don’t think he’d take long to commit. That would be 3 players over 6’2 in 1 class. Interesting strategy by Hartline as OSU hasn’t seen that much height at WR since 2017- Mack, Victor, Grimes and Harris. Not all produced very much, but since then we’ve mainly seen OSU with WRs in the 6ft-6’2 range and max out around 190

Maybe with the short(er) QBs in the class, outside of the top two and Air, one needs a taller WR to be able to see him? Hartline has always been about speed, and sure hands certainly. Maybe these guys have both? Actually, with the Buckeye trend in taller DBs, might be more interesting matchups on the practice field. Am puzzling the 'C'ommitments of the early WRs, while they are passing out 'c'ommitments left and right. Maybe you got it in one, pnut, that there's not enough money in the poke for these Lambo guys? We're set for the next two years at WR, unless the portal comes into play (outgoing), so get some serviceable+ WRs and coach them up? I'm OK with that if we spend the saved moola on a couple of 5* OTs, preferably LTs. Hard to tell what's the long game here. Go Bucks!

Didn’t post this a few weeks ago, but completely awful news for anybody, especially a kid. But his mother passed away(Idk specifics) a few weeks ago

Too many kids have to face this it seems. Tate just went through the same deal. I've said it before but that's a great reason to have respect in the recruiting forum. Feel for him no matter where he lands, that's rough and I couldn't imagine having to go through that at such a young age. Hoping for the best on this young man no matter where he lands.
