He told Brady they would recruit another QB in this class. I imagine it would be explained as depth and healthy competition, but we really do need two imo.Did I, or did I imagine that Day had spoken to Edmunds about recruiting another QB? Seems like I had, but brain is a tad foggy. More I read, seems like Brady is casting his vision around, and the home school (UCLA) looms large. Or is this a 'hedging one's bets' thing? Also seems like the cream of the QB crop is already verbaled to other schools, so 'moving up' doesn't seem like an option for tOSU. Some will say recruiting isn't over until it's over, so stay cool. One doesn't know what the conversations are between Brady and QB coach, but am betting they don't lead with 'hey, we're looking at other QBs if you don't do well at Elite QB thingy'. Anyone got anything solid other than rumor? Go Bucks!
I think OSU is one of the few schools that won't be held up because a recruit wants more money. I think Jeremiah was a 1 of 1 who could've done that, and even then they stopped at a certain amount, and told him take it or leave it essentially. Because its well known that Miami offered more than OSU. Edmunds is in no way at his level, and depending on how he does at the Elite 11, could see a slight drop. The 2027 QB class just isn't very good at the moment, and with the Portal, a team like OSU can find a starter every year they want similar to Miami or IU. So the leverage is no longer with the HS recruits. Was hoping that was the case. And it seems fair that if one keeps looking, the other might/should as well. Farther it goes, the higher the NIL might get? And since Edmunds committed way long ago, might have settled on a lower NIL number. Really cannot not speak as to how an early commitment might handle NIL. "If your ranking goes higher, we'll up your money?", or somesuch. But can see UCLA coming in over the top to get him, so will test his commitment even more, especially if tOSU goes with another higher ranked QB as a recruit. Too many variables for my poor mind....
