Zabien Brown, CB, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei: There might not have been a more polished defensive back in attendance than Brown, at least when it came to the technical stuff. Not only is he on the longer side, but he can flip his hips and fire out of his breaks like few others his age. After essentially shutting down one side of the field on Saturday, he had to leave early on Sunday to catch a flight. The South Florida Express defense took a hit without him.
That's amazing news he's visiting again so soon. Would be an incredible pickup at CB to go along with (hopefully) Scott and West.Currently in town with his mother, 2nd visit to OSU in 10 days. Mater Dei is usually a clear pipeline to USC, and OSU rarely wins these battles. But this battle seems different.
It also helps that he was visiting family in the Cleveland area before heading to campus as well. I always like the chances with an OOS kid when he has family from or still in OH.
We're no longer in the mix for Zabien Brown, btw. Per On3
“It’s really Alabama and USC,” Brown said. “I really loved Ohio State when I went out there but, from my personal standpoint and my personal takeaways, it has a lot of similarities to USC… it was too similar to USC and I couldn’t see myself going across the country for something in my backyard.”
I've never heard anyone else say that OSU/Columbus and USC/Los Angeles were "too similar", but whatever....We're no longer in the mix for Zabien Brown, btw. Per On3
