C Seth McLaughlin (All B1G, 1st Team All-American, 1st Team Academic All-American, 2024 Rimington Award, National Champion)

really great interview and some cool stories about downs and jj…

seth… grown-ass man!

i couldn’t help getting a knot in my stomach hearing him talk about what it means to have a tree in buckeye grove and reflecting on what happened with him after the rose bowl… he even seemed to get a bit choked up bringing up those ugly memories and how much he grew as a result. he said he appreciates his time in tuscaloosa but that his coming to osu and this last season was “something special. it was from up above. it was a god thing”.

we were so fortunate to have this guy wearing the scarlet and gray.
I had time to watch the full video now and one nugget of insight on the S&C is it seems Coach Mic has been adapting his program and in a good way, meaning we have more functional workouts rather than a world's strongest man competition. And yes, I most definitely got choked up hearing about the Buckeye tree...we watch these guys every weekend and don't usually get such a great look at what our program means...when a player really appreciates something like having a Buckeye tree planted in their honor, an alumnus' heart swells.

yeah i also thought that what he mentioned about feeling like he was behind a bit when he came in says something positive about what coach mic is doing to continue to build the S&C element at osu.

it was also cool to hear him talk about the more complex OL playcalling (what ryan day has also talked about with the benefit of communication in the huddles) and confirming that after he got hurt they got more creative with the schemes and not always using zone blocking.

great interview. well worth the time to watch it all the way through.

The way we ended with few nagging injuries tells the whole story. The best ability is availability and though we lost a couple big players to serious injury, we didnt have guys missing series and games due to hamstrings and ankles and shit. Huge huge improvements there and with the new system it has to get even better.
