C Seth McLaughlin (All B1G, 1st Team All-American, 1st Team Academic All-American, 2024 Rimington Award, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

I'm sure it does otherwise I would have expected him to a 3rd or 4th. It's risking not getting drafted at all that annoys me. Kid deserves to get drafted

Just sayin': Sometimes it might be and advantage for the player to not get drafted and just become a "free agent" as opposed to being drafted in the last round. The pay will be pretty much the same (i.e. the NFL minimum); however, a "free agent" gets to chose his team, etc.

References:

1) Nov 20, 2024....Starting center Seth McLaughlin ruptured his Achilles tendon in practice Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season, coach Ryan Day confirmed to reporters Wednesday.

2) Recovery from Achilles tendon rupture surgery typically takes between 4 to 9 months, with full return to sports potentially taking a year or more.

Just sayin': I'm sure his injury has something to do with not being drafted yet.
Meh. Fuck that. I want to lay on the floor, kick my feet and make social media posts furiously because the draft isn’t happening the way I said it would.

Yes but still you never get that moment of having your named called. Yes it's probably better for you longterm but you know everyone of these guys have been dreaming since being a kid hearing their name called

Ohio State Center Seth McLaughlin Signs with Cincinnati Bengals As Undrafted Free Agent

155952_h.jpg

Now, he’ll have to prove himself all over as an undrafted free agent, but he’ll enter the NFL believing in his ability to play in the league.

"I got a lot of good tape out there, I've got a lot of accolades, a lot of experience, I can bring a lot of value to an organization," McLaughlin said at Ohio State's pro day on March 26. "So I'm not worried about it, wherever I end up, I end up and I'm excited to see where that is."

Ryan Day and Will Howard often described Seth McLaughlin as a pro. Now, the former Ohio State center officially is one, even if it didn’t come in the fashion he anticipated.

Wow. Best pickup the Bengals had all draft!

Just sayin': Even if he can't play in 2025; a team should draft him sign him as a free agent now since they would (basically) be getting a 2026 2nd to 4th round pick for the price of a 2025 late 7th round pick just the NFL minimum salary.
Just sayin': Definitely the "best value" of all their draft day(s) acquisitions.

I'm shocked that nobody drafted Seth. He was the best center in CFB until his injury and could have been had for a 6th or 7th-round contract. Even if he doesn't play this year it's like trading a 7th-round pick this year for a 2nd-round pick next year. Any GM in the league would make that deal. The Bengals will probably end up paying more over the next 4 years than if they had just drafted him late.
