C Kaleb "Bully" Wesson ('18 All B1G Freshman, '19 Honorable Mention All B1G, '20 2nd Team All B1G)

just stupid fucking fouls… I wonder if he thinks he is invisible… He must be driving the entire coaching staff crazy… Played really well against Indiana with regard to fouls and the very next day
he goes back to his stupid stuff

Our bball fanbase feels like its made up of 27 diehards and some fringe students at times...then you add the football fanboys that only pay attention [to OSU basketball] when we are winning...its weird
In our defense, many of us fanboys are equally fair-weather-fickle toward the football program. It's just that OSU football is bad-to-mediocre far less often than OSU basketball is.

Kaleb Wesson came to Ohio State as the reigning Mr. Ohio Basketball at Westerville South High school. He was brought in to eventually assume the role of go-to players. Houston senior forward Breaon Brady’s route hasn’t been as high-profile coming out of Ellet High School.

The Akron, Ohio native never received an offer from Ohio State and when the junior college route attending Saddle Back where he helped the Hauchos to a 24-5 record. He averaged 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 63.7 percent from the field. Now he’ll have the opportunity to play against the school he dreamed of playing for as a kid.

“Growing up that was always the school to watch,” Brady said. “To not get an offer from there, If you’re a hometown kid it’s like dang...It’s going to be a little emotional in the beginning, but it’s just another game.”

Sunday will be the first time the two ever share the same court and Brady even admitted that up until the tournament started he’d never even heard of Wesson. Houston has in Brady what Iowa State lacked allowing Wesson to have his way in the post. He’s the anchor of the team with the the top defensive efficiency in the country. But his ability to stay on the court has been inconsistent because of his incapability to avoid whistles.

stop the damn hook and hold bullshit. Use your big ass to get position and keep your palms forward. Half those fouls happen because he starts wrapping himself in the defender. I was taught this stuff when I was in 5th grade and I'm sure he was too, especially since his pops has one of the biggest backsides of any man I've seen. He and Sullinger are really similar players except Kaleb has a serious outside game when he works at it. He just has to realize it and play confidently.

Bucks finished 6-0 when KW double-doubled, 14-15 otherwise. Houston made sure that wasn't going to happen and the Bucks never stood a chance. Once the three point shooting settled to the mean (ended up 34.5% after a hot start) the result was a 15 point loss to a better team.

Hopefully KW won't be the only interior threat next season. Absent outstanding three point shooting it's too easy for good teams to neutralize him.

first, i'm glad that kaleb has declared since it means he will get some blunt feedback about his still-sloppy body. the guy needs to add a lot more muscle, and he needs to do that yesterday. second, kaleb is obviously going to return, so i think this decision is much more about what may happen after next season. the staff must sign a good 2020 center who will make an immediate impact.
