He may play a few minutes but he can't possibly be 100%, more like 50 , Not that that's badCornerback6;669786; said:Probably an Alex Boone thing. Saving him up for NC I suppose. Doesn't hurt to give him 4-5 more days to keep him healthy. I do however hope he's ready by then.
Yes I believe he has been conditioning but not any banging and that is what puts a player into "game shape". I do believe it is killing him more than us .Bestbuck36;669984; said:FWIW Greg has been practicing. Remember we don't have enough players to go 5-5! Greg is getting to run the offense and the floor so his conditioning should be good. His offensive rhythm will be off for a few games early on though. Back to what I said earlier regarding Greg, his offensive production is nearly irrelevant with the scorers we have, its his defensive presence and rebounding we desparately need. It may be a while til he's on the floor but you can believe its killing him right now more than it is us.
Yes that is the issue. But since he has had it in a cast and/or a brace for months the muscles have to be somewhat atrophied. He was not in a brace any more last night for the first time in a while. He won't redshirt and yes a one handed Oden would be a great help. The problems are that he isn't in game condition. And he doesn't want to start too soon and injure the hand again. He may have started full tilt practice by now ,I don't know. Just as in football you have to get into physical shape. He will probably wear a brace for a while when he practices and plays to protect his wrist.Oh8ch;670052; said:I am asking out of ignorance, but isn't the issue with Oden flexing of the wrist? Isn't there some sort of device he can wear that stabilizes the hand and wrist so it wont flex? Would'nt a one handed Greg Oden be a nice 9th man right now? Or are we thinking he might redshirt? :)
