C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

I was reading bucknuts, so all the credibility I read is probably poor, but a lot of them seemed to think Oden would be back nearly a month earlier than expected. Meaning he would be ready for the UNC game. Someone claimed to have a little inside info. Is this just optimistic fodder?
i cannot comment cuz i dont know on the specfic case, but the timetable is a very conservative one. its the type of injury that often times guys are a month ahead of schedule and that is not unusual. that being said thad, the university and everyone else owes it to any kid to take his health with the utmost caution and safety, whether or not the kid is a shoe in as a lottery pick.

Oden obviously #1.

Before he underwent surgery on his right wrist last June, Oden asked Buckeyes coach Thad Matta, "If this doesn't go well, can I redshirt?" "Yeah," replied Matta, struggling to keep a straight face, "I'll keep a spot open for you."

Much has been said about Oden's "mature appearance." While I will not take issue with this, seeing Greg in person fairly close up, it is obvious that he is a young man -- mannerisms and facial expressions that do not come through in still photographs, or even so much on video.

It is great fun to see Greg and the other former AAU teammates rooting hard for young Titus (walk-on) to do well when he is able to enter a game. Lots of team chemistry at work, and it's great to see the team enjoying the game as much as they do. I was a little wary given the departure of JJ Sullinger (team's best cheerleader and funmaker last year), but it's obvious that his contribution in that area has been well taken care of.

I have been saying all along I wouldnt be surprised if he played in the Florida game on Dec. 23. Nationally televised game against the #1 team on the night before christmas eve, doesnt get much better then that.

Actually, there are still tix available.

Go to: www.woodentradition.com ...there's a link to ticket:scum3:aster to purchase tix.

It's at Conseco Field House where the Pacers play, and a ticket gets you in for the Butler vs. Purdon't "undercard" and the Bucks vs. UC :scum3:ain Event. :wink2:
