Oden is teaming up with Spalding, the official basketball and backboard of the NBA, to announce the latest technological breakthrough in basketball systems with the unveiling of the first ever iHoop.
Kev (NYC): How did Thad Matta convince you to goto Ohio St?
Greg Oden: It was him, I loved him as a coach. But also the school, the city of Columbus. He's one of the best coaches I've had.

Oden's knee injury 'not serious,' agent says

A Greg Oden likely will return to the court this week, his agent said tonight.
Oden had an MRI Saturday that revealed a bone chip in his left knee.
The Portland center banged the knee against Golden State?s Corey Maggette in the Blazers? 105-98 loss Thursday and sat out the Rookie Challenge game Friday at NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.
?I don?t think it?s that serious at all,? Mike Conley Sr. said tonight. ?He?s going to rest it. After he hurt it (against Golden State) he went back in the game, and that?s where I think the swelling came from.
?It?s a game-by-game situation, but it?s more precautionary than anything.?
Rookie Retrospective: Greg Oden
by: Matt Kamalsky
February 15, 2009
In this installment of our ?Rookie Retrospectives? series, we?ll be analyzing the play of former number one draft pick Greg Oden. A year and a half removed from hearing his name called ahead of Kevin Durant?s, Oden has settled into his role as the Trailblazers? starting center, despite the significant setbacks he?s suffered since then. After losing all of last season to microfracture surgery and the first two weeks of this season to a foot injury, Oden has seen enough action to warrant a reevaluation of where he was and a more thorough analysis of where he?s going. Though he won?t find himself in the conversation for the Rookie of the Year Award, the fact that he is back on the floor and getting the reps he needs to improve?when he?s not stricken with foul trouble?is a great sign for a Portland team that is expecting big things from him in the long-run.
Outlook
Looking forward, there are lot of things that Oden does well that will help him continue to make an impact, especially his offensive rebounding and finishing ability, but his inability to stay on the floor, the health of his knee, and the development of his offensive game will ultimately dictate what kind of player he becomes down the road. Portland is a franchise that certainly can stand to wait for him to develop, since their roster won?t be peaking this season. Oden?s improvements as a player will be an integral part of the team?s maturation, as he?ll be the anchor of their frontcourt for years.
Oden was unable to participate in Saturday's Rookie All-Star Game due to soreness in his knee, another reminder of what could well be the limiting factor in his seemingly incredibly bright future.
Oden won't play vs. Grizzlies
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Trail Blazers center Greg Oden will sit out Wednesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies because of a bone chip in his left knee.
Oden was hurt in a collision during a game at Golden State last Thursday. He was unable to play in the All-Star Weekend's rookie challenge.
The 7-foot center is listed as day to day. Team doctors are expected to evaluate his knee later Wednesday.
Oden, the top pick in the 2007 draft, sat out all of last season after microfracture surgery on his right knee. He missed six games at the start of this season with a foot injury.
